If Pound for Pound rankings were specific to genuine title holders, you'd be hard pressed to find ten to even rank.

You said Floyd shouldn't be ranked atop the pound for pound list, but you can't tell me who should.

You're right. I normally don't like ranking p4p lists. #1 p4p is UNQUESTIONABLY the winner of Taylor/Wright. Until then, I'd put Taylor as #1. He's won the undisputed championship of his weight class against one of the toughest fighters to beat in recent history, who hadn't lost in a decade, and then defended his title successfully in the rematch, and who is now defending his title against the next toughest guy to beat (Wright), a guy who hasn't lost in many years, and when he did it was against a respected titlist in a very controversial decision.

You see, Taylor could showcase himself also, but rather he chooses to fight the best and toughest guys to beat, and challenges himself winning and defending the most prestigious title in boxing (now that the HW title is split up). It's impossible to look good fighting Hopkins or Wright, but he wins and does what he has to do to win. He could look like a marvel, too, if he chose to tip-toe around the tough fights and fight showcases. Remember his fights leading up to Hopkins? Taylor is probably the most respected fighter in the sport right now, as far as I'm concerned, nudging above Pacman even.

I want to see who is P4P right now if PBF isn't right now? I guess he got there because he was just loved by everybody, if you don't like him don't ignore the obvious. I guess Hatton, Oscar, Shane, and every other CREDIBLE boxing analyst is mistaken. I'm not of Latin ethnicity but can say Duran was 1 of the greatest or that Calzaghe is a very good fighter, I wish people's biases woulden't cloud their judgement's. If you think PBF will lose to X fighter then fine, but to say he's not P4P king right now is a stumper. 1 question who is then?

You've got a really out there and twisted take on how pound for pound rankings work, and it looks to me like this is the first time you've actually thought about what you just said.

Taylor deserves a lot of credit for those wins over Hopkins, but he was nowhere near a pound for pound list before that. I see no way that he jumps into the top spot for them, and that's what you just said.

This whole "only genuine title holders should be ranked as pound for pound" is garbage, and you just shot yourself in the foot by insuating you have Pacquiao on the verge of top spot when he doesn't even have a recognized title. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a top #4# fighter, but you spout some twisted logic and use it in one case and then don't apply it in the other.

I really think you should just drop the subject. You're digging yourself in deeper and deeper.

When? Rankings of any kind are usually not a cumulative, career rankings, or should we move RJJ back into the #1 spot? Floyd hasn't done anything but fight losing fighters, coming off of recent losses for like the last 4 years.

I'd think that should drop you down a little in the rankings, and that Taylor is absolutely risen to the top because of his willingness to fight the best available fighters and not losers. It's not really complicated.

Philip N'dou, who at the time was 31-1 with 30 KO's, and Floyd fought him in the pocket the entire fight, and KO'd his ass. Personally, aside from the Corrales and Gatti fights, his most impressive win.
