People will go out and see Oscar De La Hoya, and many, only cause thier friends are going! The non boxing person, now that is impressive! You gotta marvel at Manny Paquiao. There is "ZERO" crime in his home land of The Philipines whenever he fights! Miguel Cotto get's a parade, everybody comes out, they shut down the whole Boulavard! Even the bosses come out cause everybody called in sick!! Ricky Hatton has people crossing an Ocean to come see him!!! and by the thousands!!!

In the whole world....people will still come out and see Mike Tyson. Oscar makes more and sells more than anyone.

Hatton, Mayweather and De La Hoya are the 3 most famous worldwide. This might even just be because of 24/7.
Nobody in uk knows who manny or any of the others are what so ever unless they are boxing fans.
Hattons the biggest crowd puller in the whole of boxing, that point can not be disputed

          overall throughout the world?

i'd say out of the list you made Oscar De La Hoya is the most popular out of that bunch.

Everyone (even non-boxing fans) have heard of Oscar De La Hoya.

Same goes for someone like Ali or Tyson...

those are all names even people who have NEVER watched boxing before have heard of.

i think mayweather is second (out of that list)

and pacquiao is probably third (out of that list)

De la hoya; ali; and tyson are probably 3 of the most popular fighters to ever lace them up (in my opinion) counting even people who never watched the sport.

You left Pavlik and Calzaghe off the poll.

              Most Europeans know Klitschko.
Mayweather and DLH are known all over the world though.

Not everyone knows Oscar. The only boxers worldwide that the average person knows about is Mike Tyson and Muhammed Ali..that's it. Oscar is extremely popular and well known in USA, but if you're not a boxing fan then no matter what for example European country you go to most people do not know who Oscar De La Hoya is. Even people who don't know anything about sports whatsoever are still familiar of Tyson and Ali.

On that list then I have to say Oscar De La Hoya who of course is a superstar.

Mayweather, without contest. as much as i hate to say it, he's doing wonders for this sport.
