Like when GGG was telling reporters he would go down to 154 for a fight with Floyd Mayweather. So if he would do 154 for Floyd, why didn't he offer to do it with Canelo?

Easy. Floyd Mayweather was the best p4p boxer in the world and the biggest PPV draw. He could pick whomever he wanted to fight and that opponent would have the opportunity to change boxing history and make a fortune. You make concessions to earn that fight. Canelo didn't have the boxing credibility nor the PPV sales to justify those concessions. Andre Ward had an abundance of credibility but couldn't draw crowds even if his fight was for free while thinking he was the biggest superstar on the planet. That's why negotiations with them were so difficult and drawn out in the one case they managed to make happen.

Pretty sure there was nothing wrong with GGG after the Jacobs fight. Oscar was dangling a Sept fight with Canelo in front of him and telling him it wouldn't happen if he fought BJS in June and GGG made his choice about which option to take.

GGG is the only fighter in the world that has to be 5 lbs to weight 30 days out. Canelo can be 20 lbs out and still be in great shape though.

True. I've never seen Golovkin look out of shape before that. I was very surprised how fat and soft he looked back in May and June this year. Doesn't inspire a helluva lotta confidence in his fans. Why would he choose this point in his career to let himself go, even if it was for only a few months. That will make his training camp even more difficult because he'll be trying to play "catch-up" and have to focus on losing weight. Also he might have problems that he would never have foreseen because this is something new and unknown to him.....Or, maybe he'll get himself up to his usually standards. It's hard to predict.

He is 10 lbs from weight. Canelo is 15 lbs from weight.
