By heavy I mean 172-173 instead of the usual 170-171.

Fact he's been heavier then usual at every step from when the fight was announced, to when training camp started and now at the 30 day weigh in. And not heavy like he's put on extra muscle/added strength no more heavy as in fleshy and soft.
Why do you ****ing post that tweet from that random here you pos?

GGG will be just fine. Was he fat against Murray? no, he won't be fat this time either.

          • This is a Great sign..I beleive GGG definitley overtrained in his last 2 fights when he came in at 165 for the 30 day weigh-ins. 170 is a good # and he should be Fresher and more aggressive this time. He dispatched Brook fairly easy, but got caught and he didn't seem to have that extra gear against Jacobs..

random? he's a boxing reporter and author with more people following him for boxing news on twitter then most. Writes articles for fightnights and other boxing sites. So A) he's not a nobody and B) citing one fight almost 3 years ago doesn't change the fact GGG has looked soft and heavy ever since this fight was announced and he's now on the wrong side of 30. This is not the normal weight he shows up at 30 days away. That's just a fact. And if we didn't have pics of him with a double chin, or showing up to photo shoots rocking a gut fans would ignore the weight and say hey maybe he's just bulked up adding extra muscle but that's not muscle his body and face has looked off since the fight was announced.

So definitely a bit heavier than normal. Planned ? Why depart from his normal schedule ? I'm suspecting he's a little behind his normal training with a view to making it up, but with 5 weeks to go, should be no problem.

Only thing for sure is he can't use 'over-trained' as an excuse if he loses. Some were saying he over-trained for Jacobs (but this was strongly denied by Sanchez), so that might be part of it.
                30 day weigh-in
                Murray -173
                Rubio - 170
                Macklin- 170

I have no idea and neither does anyone else here know what Golovkin and team are planning. There is nothing in his weight to worry about. Golovkin will be prepared on 9/16 the way he wants to be.

The fight is 30 days away. He will lose the 5 pounds of fat he has. Period.

Golovkin wasn't ****** up after the Jacobs fight!

See the pics above, one taken in the ring after the fight, the other at at the post fight presser. No cuts, no bruises, no swollen eyes, not even a thick lip.

Whoever posted that tweet pulled that comment out of his arse!

The mysterious "injury" given by Abel as the reason GGG didn't go forward with his plan to fight BJS in June turned out to be bullshit. We found out the real reason right after the Canelo/Chavez fight.

GGG put on more weight than usual in between fights because he had a longer break than usual from training, simple as that.

                    • I would've guessed less before the training camps started, but 10 lbs away a month out is still very much on track.
