I don't rate HUnter at all. His only success story is Ward. His second most high profile fighter in Khan is confused about how to fight and the only defensive technique he has learned is how to stick out his arm lol
Not to start a uk v us thing but the former has better boxing trainers these days.
I think even Ingle would be useful for Frampton.Comment

i agree with everything you said but matchroom and sky always have that bigger platform.... carl doesnt need them you are right but it cant hurt... also richard works with hayemaker in europe so they could partner up as well... frampton has a lot of options.... in america frampton always fights on PBC card and whoever haymons picks to promote the cards is the promoter... i hope we see frampton vs mares or gary russell in 2018... or even carl vs selby in machesterFrampton's not going to sign with Frank, and I doubt that he re-signs with Matchroom either.
Once he squares away his training situation (I think he and Shane work really well together, but not sure if that's sustainable if he does part with Barry; Adam Booth works a similar style, so maybe that works), you're going to see Frampton under his own banner, with Haymon working as an agent in putting together individual fights. Matchroom Sport as the preferred partner for Frampton fights in the UK (Frampton and Katie Taylor on a twin bill would be good; likely preferred venue for a Lee Selby fight anyway), DiBella Entertainment as the preferred partner in NYC/East Coast, and likely Richard Schaefer for Las Vegas/West Coast.
Frampton's an established global name in the sport at this point; he's not Floyd, Canelo, or Anthony Joshua at this point, but Frampton's name on the marquee draws live money but also TV money.Comment

I'm surprised by this. McGuigan and Frampton were supposed to be close.
I hope Frampton isn't making a mistake.Comment

Frampton is a good fighter, not a great one. I admired his win over Santa Cruz in the first fight, but do not forget he had almost been knocked out in the first by the late Cobrita Gonzalez Jr. Beating Kiko Martinez, Chris Avalos and Scott Quigg was not enough to call him great, but after the LSC win I thought he might become one.
Still, the way he lost to LSC in the rematch and the fact that he came overweight for the last fight tell me he's already started to slip. Most probably he peaked in the first Santa Cruz fight. Now he splits with McGuigan. I might be wrong, but all the signs of the start of a decline are there, whoever his new trainer and promoter will be. Certain fighters just get lost after they're defeated for the first time (see Donald Curry).Comment
