Comments Thread For: Crawford Would Favor Keith Thurman to Beat Errol Spence

Most boxing fans want to see Terence Crawford move up to welterweight to fight Errol Spence Jr. or Keith Thurman. It is more likely, of course, for Spence and Thurman to fight each other first. Thurman (28-0, 22 KOs, 1 NC), the WBA/WBC welterweight champion from Clearwater, Florida, is recovering from elbow surgery and won't return to the ring until sometime early in 2018.

I agree. I like both fighters but the sheeple are quick to say spence beats thurman, i think thurman has great chance of winning that. Spence beats porter and garcia though

I can see Errol stopping Thurman to the body & I can see Thurman keeping at bay & boxing on the outside to beat Errol on the cards.

          Terence makes some good points.

I still lean Spence but I do think that Keith beats that same Brook that Spence saw, and in fact I actually think that Keith would have a good shot at even ending it faster than Spence did.

At this stage I would also favor Thurman, purely because of who he's faced and beat and although spence was impressive against brook, it still showed he has much to learn at world level and he took a lot of big shots (took them well)....the longer the fight doesn't happen the more it suits spence imo, if I was Thurman I'd want to get this fight out of the way in the next 12 months.

I think the Brook that lost to Errol would have stopped Thurman.

                spence knocks thurman out

                clearly the better fighter imho

spence seemed a bit ring rusty early vs brook. timing was off

I agree. Spence has yet to reach the peak of his powers -- he's still getting better. That's the scary thing. Whereas Keith, IMO, is at the peak of his powers right now.

The longer the fight takes to materialize, the more difficult of a hill Spence will be to climb.

Sheeple? Why sheeple, because they disagree with your assessment? That's a really good fight. I pick Spence because I've seen how Thurman reacts to body shots. I'm also not sure Thurman wins that fight against Brook... definitely not by stoppage like Spence did. Thurman's game is based on movement. Spence stood in there, taking Brooks' best shots and stalked him down.
