Curtis Stevens was fighting at super middleweight and light heavyweight for years he is not small. He even had reach advantage over G.
Kassim Ouma outgrew 154 and was same size with Golovkin.
Even Brook was not much smaller really, he was actualy heavyer on fight night. Both G and Brook are naturaly junior middleweightsComment

Which means that even if GGG had accepted it when it was first made, he wouldn't be fighting Canelo one day earlier.
Beats me why so many people at this place seem unable to get their heads around a simple fact like that.Comment

Canelo has faced smaller guys, but he's faced better boxers than GGG has! Trout, Lara, Mayweather, and Cotto, are all better than anyone GGG has faced besides Jacobs! I have a lot of respect for GGG's skills, but he had a choice of chasing Canelo and Cotto, 2 blown up Jr. Middleweights, or facing Ward @ 168. He chose to chase the smaller (bigger paychecks) guys, instead of the tougher challenge! I understand why he ducked Ward, but he's still in no position to "judge" Canelo!
And golovkin chose to chase the super fight "in his division", rather than going out of his way to make a fight no one but the hardcore crowd would care about.
It's really astonishing. "Hmm, why didnt golovkin take the ****** route? Instead he took the common sense route, it's truely mind boggling"
You dont leave a division where there are fights to be made unless you want to derail your body and thus career yo-yo'ing.Comment
