Get this through your heads, even his win over tiny Russell is blown out of proportion. It's a good win for Loma, but it's not a masterpiece or anything like that. He did have to think a lot in there and Russell only moves in straight lines. Go back to the Selimov fight, the most recent one if you wish, which was 5 rounds under World Series Boxing. Loma didn't win that one in my opinion. Go back to fighting limited Yasnier Toledo in the 2012 Olympics, Loma was surviving the 3rd round after being hit to the body.
Is Loma a great fighter? Absolutely, I've been watching him since 2008 and the same step around step that he does against orthodox fighter he cannot exploit against other southpaws, and especially against the guy with the best footwork in the game, Rigo.
So yeah Rigo has slowed down significantly, I believe he is 36 and to be that age as a champion at 122 must be some kind of record in boxing but let's not act like Loma will have the same type of fight that he would have against other orthodox fighters.
