I can GUARANTEE you GGG and his team will stay away from Charlo at all cost. will never fight him. After Canelo whoops that ass, the WNC belt will go vacant. They will order CharlovsGGG for the fight, at which point GGG will retire or make some weak excuse not to fight CharloComment

dude..they literally just gave Kell ****ing Brook a title shotIt is pretty simple for me. Charlo doesn't deserve to be fighting for the MW title in his next fight. He was never the man at 154lbs. He has no big name opponents on his resume. He has maybe one or two good wins. He jumped in weight class and beat a middle tier (not even top 10 ranked by Ring Magazine) opponent. Charlo's a very good fighter IMO but that doesn't warrant fighting for the title at MW. Now he goes and fights a few more guys, or maybe he just beats Jacobs, then come talk to me about deserving a shot at the champion.
Those asking what Golovkin did to earn the title, he's spent 11 years in the division and has fought his way to the top. He had to wait and watch as he was avoided for years. Just now is he facing the lineal champion. Wasn't his fault that Canelo decided to drop the title. I wouldn't want Charlo to go through the BS like Golovkin did but simply asking him to fight a guy or two of note in the MW division is hardly asking too much. Again he has time to fight some worthwhile fighters while Golovkin and Canelo do their thing. Hopefully Charlo is smart enough to recognize until he proves more in the ring there isn't going to be a serious outcry that he should be fighting Golovkin (assuming he wins). And the WBC isn't going to be in any rush to push Charlo to fight Golovkin if that is what he is banking on.Comment

I agree with your first part.I agree there. I mean like 1 maybe 2 fights between. At the same time, assuming he beats Canelo, if there's no Saunders, Jacobs, or a decent name at 168, Charlo is the fight I want to see.
I think it's funny to see my fellow GGG fans sounding just like Canelo fans did last year... "who has he fought?... we don't need him..."
I totally disagree with your second part. Golovkin was recognized by most people in boxing as either the best or at worst the second best MW. He had fought in the division for 10 years and was already a champion. Only the biggest haters or Canelo fanboys didn't think he was worthy of fighting for the lineal championship against Canelo.
Sorry but comparing Golovkin-Canelo vs. Golovkin-Charlo as anything similar is just nuts.Comment

Neither tenure in a division, nor championship status, are directly related to the status of mandatory challenger. We cannot add additional outside parameters to determine the eligibility of a mandatory. We either support champs fighting their mandatories, or we don'tI agree with your first part.

Man if you're a Golovkin fan you should be a bit better informed. No Brook didn't earn it, he was an emergency plan. Now maybe you can argue that the original opponent didn't earn it, Eubanks Jr, but Brook was a stop gap. The fight was already in motion and Brook stepped up when Eubanks pulled out at the last minute. Massive props to Brook for taking on that challenge. He wasn't the opponent Golovkin targeted or wanted. Had Brook not stepped up Golovkin was without an opponent.
The guy he should have faced was BJS, but BJS didn't like the money supposedly. The offer was anywhere from 4MM to 1.5MM (per BJS). Instead he faced off against Artur Akavov last year (and that was it).Comment

I support whatever I think makes sense over the ridiculous and crooked sanctioning bodies.Neither tenure in a division, nor championship status, are directly related to the status of mandatory challenger.
