  • I like Golovkin a lot but this is about the 9000th time I've wished Sanchez would STFU. This guy has seen his own stable suffer because of the bull**** of boxing politics yet will support it when it suits him. Saying 'We waited for Sturm for 2 years so no way we'd fuck somebody else around and waste time in their career' would've been good but he went in the opposite direction with his logic.

If Golovkin beats Canelo then I'll wait and see what he does before criticising. But I'd like to see the Charlo fight more than Ramriez at 168 or whatever. He was probably the best at 154, or at least the one with the sort of frame to carry 160 better than Lara. I hope he gets his shot, I'd pick him over BJS but likely he'll have to wait in line behind him.

        2. In most case, I never used the term "ducking". That's term for team GGG and their ****riders always used. But in their logic, Is GGG doing "ducking" which other fighters did to GGG? Don't give a **** fighters choose money. I just hate double standard and hypocrisy.
How can you say GGG is ducking charlo when the wbc hasn't ordered the fight yet!!!! Its really that simple!!!

This!! Charlo to me does not have the power to keep GGG off him. He could barely even hurt a 1 legged fighter. Does he even want the fight deep down? or is he just talking poop like de others??

          • Sanchez is a moron. Charlo doesn't have to fit in anywhere. He was a champ at jmw and is moving up a division. That's the risk of dropping your 154 lb title to take on bigger guys. He outgrew the division, relinquished his title and is now at 160. Who the hell is Sanchez to say that Charlo has to earn it, or Charlo isn't in Jacobs league? Oh, that's just what he said. Big whoop.

This is why boxing has gotten away from what it used to be. Now the fighters that are draws are only facing fighters who are draws. The tough guy who came up through the ranks who is trying to build a fanbase himself can't because the guy who has the fanbase won't fight him. Tarver had no fanbase and he gave Roy Jones Jr a good fight in the first fight and then ko'd Jones Jr in their rematch. Mayorga came out of nowhere to beat Forrest. Baldomir beat Judah. This kind of list goes back to the early 1900's. Foh with your weirdo logic Abel. Just train your fighter and stfu.

              • Is this irony hearing Sanchez say the same stuff his team complained about from Canelo's team for years? In any case unification overrides mandatories so if GGG wins then he will target Saunders no doubt.

But, that is jumping ahead of everything because we don't know the outcome of GGG/Canelo. That fight could possibly warrant a rematch as well.

Charlo spent most of 154 against lack luster opponents. He can't be entitled to the same easy ride at 160.
At the very least, Gonzalez and Chilemba are on the same level as Fonfara who represents Stevensons best opponent in at least 3 years.

As for Charlo, he is entitled to an easy ride by virtue of winning the mandatory shot. He could join Danny Jacobs on the couch with their thumbs up their a$$ and he should get a shot at the title within the next year. It is what it is. I hope he keeps fighting and steps up his competition but he's going to get his shot.

                    date opponent record
                    2017-04-21 Mateo Damian Veron 26 18 3
                    2016-09-09 Angel Hernandez 17 18 1

                    2015-09-19 Claudio Ariel Abalos 29 13 3

Total combined record of 89-57-10. This gets you to be the #1 contender!!?? The only fight out of Argentina was against the guy with a losing record.

Utterly ridiculous that this guy was in an elimination bout. Sorry but beating him in my book doesn't get you a shot at the MW champion.

Jorge S. Heiland from Argentina is rumored to be the next opponent for undefeated world middleweight champion and pride of Kazakhstan Gennady ‘GGG’ Golovkin, according to Thesweetscience.com.

The boyish-faced man with destructive hands, Gennady Golovkin, wants to be a busy body, a throwback fighter in that he wants to fight regularly. Team Golovkin will announce his next fight on March 16. Jorge S. Heiland (25-4-2, 13 KO), coming off a win over contender Matthew Macklin, is lead dog to get the gig, the web portal says.

"I just looked him up, if he is up next, he is OK. He is rated higher in the ratings than the others, he’s willing to step up, has a good resume. Making sure Gennady fights four times this year is important," Golovkin’s trainer Abel Sanchez said of Heiland.
