I would love to see it! Realistically I think Loma should wait and grow into 135 instead of just jumping up to it next and jumping in with the BEST at 135 in Mikey! Yeah he did it to Walters but Mikey is very much active he is not laid up for a year putting on weight which lets be honest is what happened to Walters!

I personally don't care to see Bud vs Mikey. Bud is the man at 140 and probably too big and too good for Garcia. And I'm still traumatized by the Postol fight and see Bud using that same style against any fighter he perceives as a threat.
Everyone saying that Arum is going to protect Loma. If that was the case how come he had him in withSalido in his second fight? Then the big one .... any other T.R fighter would have been made to rebuild before going for another championship fight but at the risk of Loma going 1-2 on his record they put him in with Russell - seemingly a huge risk but Arum condoned it.
So all the indications are that Arum has huge confidence in Loma and/or Klimas and Team Loma have a special agreement to choose opponents.
So if you are team Loma and you can fight unification at 130 with Tank, Berchelt and Corrales OR move up and fight Garcia and/or Linares, well .... which are the bigger challenges and where is there more money? The only reason to stay at 130 is for the Rigo fight and while that would be great for legacy I don't see as much money there as there would be for a Linares or Garcia fight.
All of which is a long winded way to say that Garcia has much reason to stay at 135. He can hopefully fight both Linares and Loma before end of 2018. Meanwhile both fights can be built just a little. If Mikey got itchy feet he can look for special fights along the lines of Broner - maybe Figueroa, maybe CW with Danny, maybe Flanagan.
Right now he is a shooting star but like you I think fighting Crawford at 140 can see his star extinguished before he's made too much headway. I don't see Bud having any difficulty with anyone at 140 including Garcia or Loma if he ever dared. He is just too big and too good.Last edited by SteveM; 08-02-2017, 12:58 PM.
