Same thing happened when Mayweather "wanted" 8 oz. gloves in the Cotto fight. The NSAC declined it.

Cotto had nothing to do with the fight not having 8 oz. gloves and neither does McGregor. It's the NSAC.

8oz gloves wouldn't have helped Conor beat Floyd. If anything, smaller, harder gloves would give Floyd even more of an advantage than he has already, because he's going to be landing the punches in this fight, not Conor!

Is anyone surprised by Floyd's posturing about allowing 8 oz. gloves? This is a guy who was willing to pull out of the Maidana fight if he didn't switch his gloves prior to the match. You really think he was going to let Conor have 8 oz. gloves? Not that it would help him, but seriously, Floyd had to have known about this rule. He's been down this road 49 times.
