for real. That 15 day excuse is lame. He had just about a year's notice because I remember that when cotto beat geale, the canelo fight was already agreed to in principle. In order for that to happen, everyone knew that ggg would have to accept step aside money because he was the mandatory.

WBC got what they asked for. Canelo never needed the belts, he is a draw without them, but he respected the history and represnted the WBC strap after taking it from Cotto.
BBB side was never going to get a deal they wanted so they tried to force a purse bid and the WBC supported that. Its pretty clear what set off Canelo against the WBC. Sauliman just needs to open his eyes.
They are tired of getting percentage fees from BBB side and want that Canelo money. They got what they asked for, and deserve.

He was cool with that and cool with them never enforcing a mandatory on him.... Until they did so with ggg. I don't think Canelo is wrong for saying **** the wbc, but he was ok with it when their shady ways benefitted him.
        THIS. RIGHT. HERE.

Canelo is not making some principled stand here, guys. He's upset he didn't get his way, so he's taking his ball and going home

It's very clear. Canelo thought that because he was the star of Mexican boxing, the WBC would allow him to avoid fighting GGG and keep wearing their belt for as long as he wanted.

He's been sulking like a spoiled brat since he found out that wasn't going to happen.

For all other boxers, i.e. for 99 and more % belts matter; for them belts are a currency, it's a ticket for paydays, especially if they don't have a big fanbase. If not for the belts, GGG would have never gotten Canelo. Whoever doesn't agree with this status quo is clueless.
Then let those boxers agree to whatever the organisation says, I would never support any organisation over a boxer period.

Just like i would never support a manager, promoter, network etc over a boxer. They get in the ring to earn money, entertain others, earn money for others etc.

So, if a boxer ever decides he doesn't want to be promoted, by someone who has made enough back from that boxer tenfold or whatever, then am backing that boxer full stop.

For the top name they should be. Just fight the best out there and phuck those belt. I couldn't careless if Canelo v GGG was for zero belt. The fight happened with or without the belts.

The fight with ggg is here! You act like they aren't fighting. Canelo just isn't going to pay them for what already been discussed. You can't force any fighter to fight for a belt if the fighter doesn't want too. Period

Do you follow boxing? This has nothing to do with him not wanting to pay their fees. This is because the special treatment that the WBC already had given him, wasn't enough. He wanted to hold the belt hostage for another year, while waiting for GGG to show signs of decline.
