Who used/uses the high guard effectively?

Pac like others used it when he's resting.
Or when the opponent is shy of throwing punches.
When used against Pac like most pros, it's ineffective
and punches will still land right through the center.
So why did Broner use it against Garcia? For what?
Isn't it just a sign that he has no game plan,
and was just waiting for his turn?
    I don't get it.

Marlon Starling and Azumah Nelson are the first names that comes too mind, if someone wanted too learn the high guard Starling is the first person I'd point them towards, he was incredible defense wise.
          Jose Torres
          Winky Wright
          Bazooka Ike

No, Floyd rarely use it. He moves around, instead. Broner got heavy feet.
He moves around in some cases but gets cornered and get beaten to a pulp.
I'd rather see him do the shoulder roll stance.
It's a confident stance and it at least has a meaning and an end goal.

late period winky wright would be the most textbook example for sure.

earlier in his career he used to box and move. later on, when his legs weren't as fresh, he adapted. lot sof people thought he beat jermain taylor and should jave been the unified middleweight champion. he had a very good career and was a heck of a 154 lber.
