First ... GGG didn't force any 15 deadline, he said he wanted his mandated shot at the WBC title, which he'd been waiting for for over a year.

The 15 day deadline came from the WBC, and it's something they always do when ordering a mandatory defence. If the two sides start negotiating, and they tell the WBC they want time to reach a deal, they will always get the time they need.


The WBC will only call a purse bid if one side says they don't want to negotiate, or tells them that negotiations have broken down. GGG's team never did either of those things with Canelo and GBP.

They all do it not just Canelo. Very few guys fight at what they walk around at. And Trout, Lara, Angulo, Kirkland all were about his weight maybe 2-4 lbs less.
