It's the only game plan for a guy like Garcia. Chase him around, instead of him chasing you. Problem was Broner's gloves were up in the air most of the time, which means he's on a defensive stance. Being aggressive entails risks. It's do or die Angulo type aggression, which of course, win or lose.

It was obvious Team Broner thought of Mikey going into this fight as only a counter puncher so they tried to use lateral movement in the beginning to try to confuse him. Once they realized Garcia could cut off the ring well and got buzzed with a left hook they tried to change plans and come forward, then Mikey just got off first. In the later rds Garcia began to counter when Broner started be a little desperate.

And Broner was frustrated to the point of throwing blatant elbows when body'd up. It's too bad Mikey couldn't KO this dude.

They put too much stock into thinking Mikey had limited skills compared to Broner. Broner's trainers were even saying before the fight, "Why they think a Mexican can breat Broner?"
