Face it, he gets attention because of his mouth and antics, not his boxing ability.
    Pretty much this. Good post

Same dudes who think Broner is mediocre will now say Mikey should win FOTY for beating Zlaticanin and Broner

        This is comical.

Just say it, you do think Broner is good, but you don't like him. I don't like Broner, my friends don't like Broner. But Broner is an alright boxer, he's above mediocre. He can beat guys like Matthysse, Vargas, Horn, maybe ever Peterson at 147. From 140 he can beat some top 10 guys there too. Broner just lost to an elite fighter, Lightweight or whatever, Mikey is elite and Broner is above average.

People are voting based on how much they like or dislike Broner rather than how good Broner is realistically speaking versus the top 10 at 140 and 147.

I do kinda agree with Russ that he's somewhere between mediocre and good...but I'd lean more towards good than mediocre. He beats anybody who's purely mediocre but loses to anyone who is elite, and is probably 50/50-ish with most dudes who qualify as good...

I put good. think he's only lost to one boxer who IMO was better than him, Mikey. His losses to Porter and Maidana IMO were more size related (coupled with his needing to lose so much weight between fights) than them being better than him.

He's a good but not great fighter. He could probably have been a better fighter if he had the discipline and the right people in his corner. He squandered his talent and he's wasting his prime. I also think he was affected mentally by the Maidana fight and hasn't been the same fighter since. He would rather stink up the joint than to risk another humiliating knock down or a knock out. He's fighting his own ego in the ring alongside his opponent. Regardless, he was out-boxed by a superior boxer on Saturday.

A good flawed fighter who was over hyped... Nobody at this level is a bum or bad fighter hes just not good enough to beat the top fighters, never will be

he's a good fighter and nothing more.

people fell for it when he fought guys who were hopelessly smaller than he was. eloy perez, jason litzau, gavin reese, those are tiny little guys. of course he's going to look like an explosive puncher who finishes fights early when he's fighting c+ level featherweights and small lightweights.

But I don't think Broner is mediocre, or even a bad fighter like a lot of people say.
How do you consider mikey Elite when he hasn't beat anyone who is considered to be even in a top 10 of their division. Your claiming he proved to be Elite, when in fact he never even beat a Elite fighter, and Broner is no where near Elite at this moment.

Broner has the potential to be #1 at Jr welterweight and Welterweight But what hold him back is hismself. He doesn't take it serious enough point blank. I can't name a guy in the Welterweight division is has more natural talent and athleticism than Broner, he just chooses to let the lifestyle get to his head and he pays the price for it every time.

just looked at your poll choices lol.

"good" fighters "crack the top 10 p4p momentarily?" do bad fighters win multiple world titles and make millions on HBO and showtime?

guys, if a fighter even makes it to TV he's better than 99.something percent of his division, or caught lightning in a bottle and got handed a payday.
