Donaire is past it and based on and his performance, he doesn't have much left in the tank. That's why Arum let him go. He had still has his power, but his speed and reflexes are really fading and his style relies heavily on those attributes which are detrimental for the smaller weights.
He's still a big name among the lighter weights and a lot of good and fresh match ups for him. I can see him still giving the top names a good fight, but just can't see him beating them considering the stage his career is in right now. Prime Donaire would be a different story.Comment

There are obviously things they can do with him because there are a good amount of guys on that side of the street that Donaire hasn't fought. His name will get him some good opportunities and maybe he can make a late career run.
Certainly not can't miss but it seems like a risk worth taking that is not that costly for Ringstar.Comment
