I'm sure Andre Ward will be leaving ROC Nation and sign with Top Rank. He along with J. Prince and J. Dubin already have a good relationship with Arum, since they got Shakur Stevenson to sign with Top Rank. So perhaps this purse bid was so that Ward could fight Beterbiev at a later date?

He has 10 pro fights ; 2 against Former World Light HeavyWeight Champion (Cloud - Campillo) and at least 2 other legit contender (Prieto and Alexander Johnson).
Also, he got a shoulder injury that kept him away from boxing for 10 month, Plus the fact that he can't fight during Ramada.

I agree GYM didn't always act professionnal, but they clearly did everything (or almost) they could to propulse this guy Mandatory to Andre Ward. After 11 fight, I think it's pretty good don't you think?

Fill TV time as TR gots a good roster for boxing fans like us here, but most cats they are hoping to turn into boxing fans aren't gonna wanna see Stevenson & Conlan spend the next 4 years fight guys with a 9% chance to win.

Plus as mentioned if Beterbiev is having promoter problems why not try to work with him & acquire him if possible. TR is gonna need more prime time level fighters for this ESPN deal.

I like where you're going with this! Bob does nothing without thinking 2 steps ahead of the competition. He's not always successful, but he always has an "angle." Signing Ward would be big! Arum has a better relationship with Haymon than Roc Nation (Jay-Z) does. GYM brought this on themselves! Beterbiev was on the shelf way too long!
