I read the name micheal grant and figured this must be another guy cant be someone that got dismantled by lennox lewis 15 years ago... But I was wrong... If Hearn wanted to get him in the ring with a 44 year old it should be Amir Mansour. That could of been a 10 or 12 round co-feature with the WBC regional belts they both have on the line. It could have doubled as a WBC eliminator. Mansour has the WBC USNBC title & Whyte has the WBC International title. The WBC kind of screwed Mansour as they said the winner of Mansour/Kauffman would get a #5 ranking along with the USNBC title. He is ranked #19 instead. Michael Grant is done. I would have accepted Derric Rossy or Joey Dawejko instead of Grant. These European fighters sure like to fight old recycled names.

Whyte said he wants a tall HW. He needs a u.s name over here to fight just to get his name put there else where.

Not many options are available. Blame wilder bc he didn't want the fight. Mansaur is also a southpaw,that has no real bearing to him ,i think a lot of guys don't fight him bc he is a smaller southpaw, a tough one but top guys always try and get LIKE opponents who they will face.

Breazeale would be the best choice if we are going with any U.S name available.Not sure Hearn would risk it, with whytes first U.s appearance.Whyte called him out before not sure where that went? Whyte also stated he wanted to make a big splash,so splashing a 6'7 guy who lost 3 in a row on the canvas could be his plan?

Grant looked so damn awful agaisnt Zimnoch in his last fight, I think I could KO him at this point. I actually think that a prime Grant would have been a force in the division 5 or 10 years ago though, he just came along a little too soon. He could've beaten guys like Liakhovich, Stiverne and Valuev. I think prime Grant vs 2017 Wilder would probably be a 50/50 fight

Grant has taken time off in spurts 2 /3 years here and there..you cant stop a healthy guy making a living and telling him he cant compete bc hes 44 or whatever....If Vitali came back are you going to say NO when he would defeat 95 % of the guys now with proper training and time? I have little doubt Vitali would hand Wilder or Parker L's right now in 6 months time at age 46.
