Yeah but in context, Bernard Hopkins was in the p4p rankings and had unified 2 belts for the undisputed against Felix Trinidad, and had seen some limelight among casual fans because of the Tournament and of being an opponent for Trinidad, Trinidad was the favorite against him but everyone knows that it wasn't going to be easy for him. Pacquiao was a literal nobody outside of hard core boxing fans, and was seen as an easy meat for Barrera so that they could get it on with the 3rd fight for Erik Morales, Pacquiao derailed that plans out of nowhere and became an instant household name.

I was very close to picking Pac over Barrer as win of the decade. It was simply remarkable that a tiny little Phillipino was coming over to fight the greatest featherweight on the planet, on short notice, with barely any experience at that level and only 23 years old. He won and he battered Barrera in the process, ripping his prime from him.

But it has to go to Hopkins, 35 or so years old, beating a prime, atg puncher with utter ease. How many rounds do any of us even give TIto before the stoppage? 1? 2?

I'd probably list the great wins of the 00s as:

I dunno about all this Frazier beating Ali talk. Ali was ocming off a 3 year lay off at the time, with barely any time in the ring. It's nowhere close to being bigger and better than Ali over Foreman.

Cmon now, Mayweather squeaking past a post prime Oscar in a dud of a fight? There are at least 20 better wins, more remarkable, more entertaining and with a lot more boxing involved.

Oh man the 80s and 2000s has some stiff competition to pick from. I think most will agree with Douglas-Tyson as win of the 90s.

80s... I'm leaning towards Duran-Leonard

2000s? Maybe Barrera-Hamed... idk have to think about it more lol. Hopkins-Trinidad is another big one.

2000's i like forrest over moseley 1 because even though some talk about the 2nd round headbutt...that fight wasnt even close.
I also like barrera over hamed...i loved that little guy and i felt bad for his embarrassment.

Hindsight is 20-20. Tito had just battered a top 5 MW and the best JMW. That was a huge win for Hopkins. I think that one barely edges out Pac over Barrera.

This actually isn't a hard list to make. That decade is the only iffy one. I agree with the others. If Sweet Pea got his rightful win over JCC, then I'd say that one. over Douglas Tyson considering those are two top 20 all time greats.

Oscar if he finishes the fight the right way against Tito is close as well

A good amount of solid lower weight fights but I think Muhammad Ali(Clay at the time) massively upsetting a close to Prime Sonny Liston have got to be the win of the decade.

70's
Most clear cut from this list. Frazier beating a past prime but still elite Ali in their first fight.

80's
A HUGE amount of big wins during this decade but i think Duran beating Leonard in Montreal will take the cake here.

90's
Douglas over Tyson. Pretty easy choice.

2000's
Tarver KO Roy Jones Jr 2nd fight.

2010-2017.
JMM KO Manny Pacquaio and I don't think any other win have even come close.

60's- Clay over Liston
70's- Ali over Foreman
80's- Duran over Leonard
90's- Douglas over Tyson
00's- Pacquaio over De la Hoya
10's- Marquez over Pacquiao

2000s had a ton of great wins. I think Hopkins knocking out Trinidad is a greater victory than Milk dud over Jones.

Putting it into context, in hindsight we now know that after that first fight with Tarver, Jones' career was the beggining of his downhill ride.

In contrast, Trinidad was top 3 p4p on everyone's list. He was no doubt a bad mofo. Eventhough looking back Trinidad lost to jones and winky, he was never knocked out in that fasion.

Putting boxing aside, this fight was right after 9/11 too. Had to have been a great victory for the American after such a horrifying event.

I think this probably right, I'd say Toney's W over Nunn is a solid contender for the 90's
