Tried to neg a 7mill offer for margarito with an added 10mill for cotto, Was denied said fk it and Bought out his contract.
Had the biggest fight in boxing history (at the time) with dela hoya, made 25 mill+ much better than the 10 mill for cotto.
beat undefeated hatton
had went 5 weight classes with no loss and had the biggest ppv of all time
He had nothing else to fight for at that time because he already got his prize...dela hoya....it was always dela hoya
Let me understand this. Floyd's goal in life was to fight a guy that wasn't even a full time fighter, but was a promoter. At that point DLH was 2-2 in 4 years. He arguable beat Mosley, but arguably lost to Sturm and was KO'd by Hopkins. That was Floyd's goal in life instead of fighting a top WW like Margarito, Williams or Cotto? And this is who you call TBE?
Cotto NEVER pursued a fight with mayweather
Cotto did no more than what Hatton did. Hatton said he'd fight Floyd, so Floyd told Ellerbe to make the fight ASAP. Cotto said he'd fight Floyd so Floyd told Merchant he would retire before he'd let boxing retire him. Big difference.
even though they shared the same weight class twice, But mayweather tried to neg a fight for him and they thought cotto was too green at 140.
Again, why are you resorting to 2005 when the conversation is about 2007/2008? If Floyd was willing to fight him in 2005, he should've been willing to do the same in 2008.
After that 2008
Didn't fight a top WW for almost 4 years. Let that sink in. 4 YEARS!
From Nov 2006- May 2010, Mayweather didn't fight not ONE top WWLast edited by Chollo Vista; 07-23-2017, 01:22 AM.

And guess what? In 2006, Carlos Baldomir was the last Welterweight Mayweather faced until he fought Shane Mosley in 2010. That's 4 years before facing another Top Welterweight. Let that sink in.
So he fought the #1 and #2 ww. Then beat the #1ww again and u mad?
Why are you talking about 2005 when the thread is clearly about 2007/2008? Do you not know the difference between 2005 and 2008?
Floyd was retired 2008
At the end of 2006, DLH was the #6 JMW... Why is that?
He was a fkkn jmw......take some time to look up how many people won belts in 5 different weight classes
You mean Floyd beat a guy who went 1-2 as a WW with his lone win at WW coming against Luis Collazo in a bout he was almost stopped? And then turned around and retired for 2 years thereafter? Floyd should be ashamed of himself.
Revisionist history: Hatton was 42-0 when Floyd fought him. His 2 losses were to the two greatest fighters of this era. It's that type of logic that makes your whole argument flawed. You should be ashamed typing that
Who cares how much Money floyd made if he went 4 years without fighting a top Welterweight?
2 of those years he was retired

When are you going to stop lying?

No cotto said he'd fight whoever but negotiated a fight for Gomez and margarito. Weird how a guy holding the wba belt NEVER pursued a fight against a man who holds three belts and is the #1ww and #1p4p fighter in the world in his division. Anyone else would get crucified
Why are you lying again? Floyd asked Bob for a guarantee in 2005 that Bob couldn't guarantee.
Again, why are you resorting to 2005 when the conversation is about 2007/2008? If Floyd was willing to fight him in 2005, he should've been willing to do the same in 2008.
And again Floyd was with top rank at the time. Again he was retired 2008. He says (and merchant co-signed) in the interview you posted that he had already had plans on leaving once the hatton fight was done. he never again fought a top rank promoted fighter till Manny Pacquiao in 2015. was he scared of all arum promoted fighters?
Yeah, Floyd retired like a b1tch in 2007.
This is what your really mad at....and that's understandable.
Didn't fight a top WW for 4 years. Let that sink in. 4 YEARS!
He was retired for two of them. The other two he beat a jmw and an undefeated hatton in two of the biggest fights of all time. You would've done the same ****
From 2006-2010, Mayweather didn't fight not ONE top WW

Forget Williams, Margarito and Cotto; it's all about Judah and Baldomir.

Floyd didn't beat a top WW for 3 years and 6 months all the while retiring while the WW division was at its hottest.
When asked to fight Cotto, Floyd said he'd retire from boxing before it retired him.
How you can defend this is asinine; especially when it's on video.
If you want to tell me how Judah/Baldomir/Hatton are >> Cotto, Margarito and Williams, be my guest.

You're trying to hype him on some fantasy that Mayweather ducked him, because you can't use his record to do it.
