Not that this article is about Ward/Kovalev, but I had him winning the first fight and in the rematch had him winning on the score cards but you could visibly see him wilting under Ward's pressure. Low blows or not, his defeat seemed inevitable.

Kovalev seems to be similar to a Liston or Tyson in that the aura of invincibility is almost as important to them as it is to their opponents' psyche.

Anyway, regarding his choice of trainer; I think Abel would be a good pairing but just can't see him changing his attitude (unless his two losses change him for the better, I doubt it). I like his style of fighting even if he's surly and not particularly likeable as a person. I wish him the best, but if he fights Sullivan Barrera I will be pulling for Sullivan.

Kov is uncoachable and its crazy with his limited game that he's still an elite fighter and is the only man to give the pound for pound #1 fighter in the world all he could handle in both fights and IMO beat him in the first match!

Kov should go to Lomachengo's father since he'll have some sort of comradery and no language barrier and with a trainer who's considered a scientist!

He'll have Kov in tip top shape, make sure he trains year round so he can stay at 175 or just build him to cruiser, he has the length, skill and power to do well at that weight!

Kovalev can still beat anyone at 175 besides Ward.
He was a verry good fighter before and hes still a verry good fighter even though he is hard to handle for a trainer.
