That's how I've been watching boxing for years and honestly, it's the best approach by a mile

I always remind myself that these fighters don't know who the **** I am so why should I get emotionally invested into them? We have lives outside of boxing to live

I'm not sure if this was you i said it to, but when Andre Ward was speaking about retirement it was like how can you blame him????? He gets paid to fight. His profession is to beat people up for money and for the aspect of just doing it.

It sounds great on the surface when you can be a Lennox Lewis, Mike Tyson, Floyd, Bernard, Pernell, Oscar type....where you can walk away from it and your facilities havent been robbed.

These guys lose almost everything to give us a show and what for?

It might have been, look at a recent Robert Garcia interview where he said Mayweather paid Maidana 1.5M not to wear the horse hair gloves, that isn't any bit surprising to me, where as most idiots on here would say that's cowardly. Who wouldn't want to have the kind of money to offer an opponent that?

Even Mayweather doesn't articulate himself as well has he used to, not that he's ever been the most articulate but this sport is so damn brutal man.

The man will have to relearn how to walk, how to talk, how to function. However, even with all of that he instinctively knows how to slip a punch. The sport took something from him he may never get back, but even so what he does reclaim will in part be because of that very same sport. Boxing isn't just in his mind or in his muscles, it's his SOUL. It was beautiful man, I love this damn sport.

That was enough for me. My lips were quivering before I even got round to watching the video.

That's not tear inducing it's actually really cool and amazing to see.

Also it wasn't the sport that took his life away from him, it was the animal he fought and the ref who were responsible.
