When was Chavez tough and rugged? When he lost the first 11 rounds to Sergio? To be fair, while the fight was shockingly bad, probably the most shameful performance I've seen by a boxer fighting on PPV, it didn't look like it'd turn out that way ahead of time. Chavez has, in the past, been a tough and rugged guy who seemed to prefer to fight face-to-face. Both of the guys were popular Mexican superstars fighting one another on a Cinco de Mayo weekend, plus for once it seemed that Jr. was taking training seriously. I never thought that even Chavez would just show up and move around the ring once his paycheck was secure, not for that kind of event. Little did we know that Chavez's character was just that poor. Still, even with that in mind, at least Chavez was an actual boxer who had previously held world titles, so even now it's still a better fight than Mayweather-McGregor will probably be.
Chavez was tough and rugged against nobodies.Comment

Canelo and his fans should shake their head at themselves for why Canelo fought Floyd like a coward and was afraid to let his hands go. Floyd had Canelo just fighting to survive and scared to get countered. Some Mexican warrior that Canelo is...Comment

LOL at the FloeHoes on here shaking their carpet heads, trying to discredit Canelo/Chavez. At least Chavez is a pro boxer that accomplished more in the boxing ring than McGregor.Comment

You follow boxing and believe a Canelo v Conor boxing match would be competitive and would bet your life saving on it? Let me introduce you to the word "hyperbole," or Bullsheeet in the parlance of this site.Comment

None of these boxers trashing it would turn down that fight, none. Even De La **** would come out of retirement for 100+ mil.Comment

Because Alvarez didn't want to end up looking like a missing combo artist in Marquez vs Floyd.Comment
