Originally posted by Scopedog View PostTo be fair, while the fight was shockingly bad, probably the most shameful performance I've seen by a boxer fighting on PPV, it didn't look like it'd turn out that way ahead of time. Chavez has, in the past, been a tough and rugged guy who seemed to prefer to fight face-to-face. Both of the guys were popular Mexican superstars fighting one another on a Cinco de Mayo weekend, plus for once it seemed that Jr. was taking training seriously. I never thought that even Chavez would just show up and move around the ring once his paycheck was secure, not for that kind of event. Little did we know that Chavez's character was just that poor. Still, even with that in mind, at least Chavez was an actual boxer who had previously held world titles, so even now it's still a better fight than Mayweather-McGregor will probably be.

I don't like Canelo, but he is 100% right. He will engage in a real boxing fight vs. GGG. The other idiotic circus act between the most cowardly and cheating boxer in his generation and the MMA clown who wants a big payday for doing an activity he is not prepared to do, is a total farce.
Also, like any event in those fake "professional wresting fights," the result is predictable and fixed. The cowardly cheater will "win," that's already agreed upon, because he is the "A side" in this farce. Just the details of what kind of theatrics they will agree to use to make the "fight" look "real" is what will make it somewhat "intriguing." I predict there will be some pre-rehearsed wrestling moves from the MMA guy, which will cost him deducted points, to make the farce more enjoyable for the people who will pay for such a waste of time.
Now, Canelo-GGG has to be a war, most REAL BOXING FANS will be expecting something like Hagler-Hearns, an all-out war from beginning to end, which will end up as a historic event in boxing.
