Floyd promised Margarito that he would fight him in the future when it made smarter business sense. Before that Floyd said he’d fight Margarito any time any where just as long as Bob Arum showed him the money.

.Floyd said after the Mosley fight he wanted to fight the best, just line ’em up. Floyd has said numerous times he doesn’t duck or dodge anyone. Floyd called Miguel Cotto a “punching bag” and said that Cotto knew he couldn’t beat me, but when Cotto challenged Floyd to a fight in 2008, Floyd backed out and had Ellerbe tell the New York Post that Cotto’s PPV numbers weren’t good enough.

In 2005, Mayweather called out Winky Wright. The details were hammered out: the bout would be at 154lbs but weigh-ins would be the morning of the bout rather than the day before and Wright would not be allowed to gain more than eight pounds between weighing in and the start of the contest. But Mayweather and Bob Arum suddenly pulled out, demanding changes to the purse-split and other such things until the bout was dead in the water. He chose to take on Sharmba Mitchell instead.

Floyd was a great fighter but he certainly ducked a few prime fighters.
Floyd got offered 8 mil for margarito but ends up fighting Oscar, a better fighter & more $.

Floyd wanted Mosely before the Vargas fight & after the Vargas fight Mosely said he had a loose tooth...lol...so he didn't want the Floyd fight.

Floyd wanted cotto after the Gatti fight, cotto was ring side watching that fight. Right after that fight bob arum said cotto was too green & wasn't ready for Floyd.

And how the hell was he going to fight Winky? Winky was a couple weight classes above him! It's like Why didn't Floyd fight klitschko, Come on man!

The man ain't duck. It's only what you people are saying.

I think it's quite clear in this interview after the Cotto vs Mosley fight, Nov 10th, 2007:

@1:38, Cotto says "Mayweather, Hatton, Margarito, De La Hoya, Whoever they put in front of me, I'll fight".

In December 2007, here's what Floyd had to say regarding facing Cotto:

Floyd also said Cotto lives too far and isn't a PPV star.

I think it's quite clear Floyd ducked this fight by retiring for almost 2 years right after.

Here's the Welterweight rankings at the end of 2007:

      Floyd Mayweather Jr., Champion
      Miguel Cotto
      Paul Williams
      Shane Mosley
      Antonio Margarito
      Zab Judah
      Kermit Cintron
      Luis Collazo
      Joshua Clottey
      Jackson Osei Bonsu
      Oktay Urkal

In 2005, Cotto was green; he had only been fighting for 4 years with his best opponent being Ricardo Torres. Floyd had been fighting for almost 10 years and was much more experienced. Cotto was an apprentice. Also, was Cotto a PPV star in 2005? No, so why did he have to be a PPV star in order to fight him in 2008?

Speaking of 2008, I think it's quite clear in this interview after the Cotto vs Mosley fight, Nov 10th, 2007, that Cotto would fight Floyd:

I'm well aware of Mosley's toothache after the Vargas fight. The guys I mentioned were Cotto, Williams and Marg.

Dude, Floyd could of fought the champion is his 10th pro fight I wouldn't even doubt his first pro fight. Stop making excuses for cotto. Bottom line he fought & beat the top better half of the people on your list. Wait a minute! Are you one of those guys that said pacquiao would beat Floyd?

If Floyd could've fought Cotto in 2005, he could've fought him in 2008. The only person making excuses was Floyd; I even showed you the video.

After Cotto beat Mosley, Cotto clearly said he would fight Mayweather. A few months later, Mayweather clearly said he wanted no parts of Cotto but wanted to retire. It's almost along the same lines of Mosley saying he had a toothache, but you have no problems using Mosley's quote as a reference right?

Bottom line he fought & beat the top better half of the people on your list.
He fought Cotto 4 years after he was supposed too.

                He never fought Williams.

                Never fought Margarito.

He didn't get the Mosley fight in 2006, but what's stopping him from making the Mosley fight in 2008?

Wait a minute! Are you one of those guys that said pacquiao would beat Floyd?
No, I predicted Floyd would win.

                    1. Cotto lives too far
                    2. Cotto not a PPV star.
                    3. I'll retire from boxing before it retires me.

I mean it was just ridiculous. Even Roger Mayweather knew the boxing public wanted Floyd to fight the winner of Mosley vs Cotto.

Ok, if you're not going to fight Cotto, then at least fight Williams who was the #2 WW at the end of 2007 behind Cotto. Floyd opted to retire, only to continue to fight for the next 10 years.

                    I remember being pissed

cotto got knocked out in 2008.

                    LMAO
