I think the changes to googles search engine have actually benefited Boxing Scene. I haven't got up to date data but search engine referrals are up 47% according to Alexa.

yahoo search is set to how google used to be, I still see like smaller boxing sites on the top when I search boxers names, google is mostly big name sites hogging the entire top and then some EDU websites with spamming links.

The problem is like 90 percent of people in the usa use google to search, 5 percent use yahoo and the other 5 percent use msn.

Oh I don't doubt that at all. It's a beast. I use Bing now and then but I think that's Google as well. My computer gives me an option to use Microsoft. Might try that for different results as well.

Bing was my ****, thats the MSN search.

I miss bing cashback, its sad how people are so fixed on google, its like facebook, or apple, people are like set on brand loyalty they refuse to try something new.

That Bingcash back was awesome, I would shop through Bing and certain stores would give you cashback, I bought a TV and a laptop online threw bing cashback and on my account I was able to get 35 percent cash back, I remember at the end of the year my cashback account had over $485 bucks in cash back from Tigerdirect, Target, and clothing stores. I used to order a grip when they had sales and they let you use coupons of 20 bucks off 100, I used to get a ton of clothes for a good deal and get cash back and discounts.

Sadly they got rid of it because not enough people shopped through bing and not enough search traffic.

Google is crooked as ***, you remember those stories of mommy bloggers or people who got rich of blogging back in the start of Adsense? those people are broke now and many of the small boxing sites are broke as well because google did something to their search where Indians from India they hired quality rate sites and once a human rates that site they can never become top of search for single keywords. Only way they can get there is if they invest only into advertising on google.

Google claimed they changed their search to combat spam, but they ruined it for all the small websites that abide by the rules too.

Google makes over 60 billion a year off their adsense, and youtube is the main one where people earn, off their spammy youtube channels just recycling news they read online and getting traffic.

a couple of those channels on youtube like Dontae boxing make almost 70 thousand a year off youtube monetization ads. its how he can afford to travel and do boxing videos all day, same goes for that egosboxing, these guys dont work thats their job just recycling boxing news.

Naw, just searched it up on the news lol

I was pissed that I couldn't find old articles or videos that I was able to find pre 2013.

The video I was looking for 3 years ago was Tyson hotel brawl, they used to have a news article from some boxing blog and it had the entire security video.

I used to be able to find it easy back in the day in the early 2000s up to 2010

Now I can't find it, sucks, anyone with a brain could notice the change in search, I knew something was fishy when all the top spots in search for boing keywords were mainly the big name websites who have money coming in and no more blogs by boxing fans who wrote legit opinion pieces or forums could be found accept for Boxingscene and boxing news.

Another thing I read on a forum is the owner of Boxing news 24 and ESB sabotaged all the competition all the niche boxing sites he spammed them and did some tactics to make their ranking low, he couldn't do that to boxing scene though. this is why you only see boxingscene and esb/boxingnews 24 on top searches now.

Thats just another theory someone told me for why sites like saddo, cyberboxing, doghouse, etc have all lost their traffic.

You know, you make a great point. When I search for anything, nothing obscure comes up that I haven't heard of. It's usually big name things. I don't know. Should I use yahoo or msn? I don't care for their politics which is why I stray away from them. Ha.
