Going to be a boring technical fight. I'll be watching because if you're only as good as your last fight Billy Joe should lose this. You can't disrespect Boxing by ballooning up & cutting weight. It eventually catches up to you.

Saunders owes mandatories has had the belt almost 2 years with no mandatory defense he has to fight who the WBO tells him or he is getting stripped. Otherwise he would be fighting another no named bum and not fighting anyone like Jacobs unless he has to. He has been holding that belt hostage while he tries to back into a big money fight with either GGG or Canelo. Jacobs according to reports is fighting on the Canelo/GGG PPV undercard. Lemieux appears to have a big money fight promised to him against one of Golden Boy's fighters he is showing up at the Cotto/Kamegai fight and reports are he is fighting Cotto in dec if he wins. If Cotto loses probably fighting Canelo. Because of the injury his last fight I don't think Lemieux is fighting again before Dec. Brant probably should of took the fight but jumped up in weight to make more money in the 168 Tournament.

Monroe got the fight because he was the next available fighter in the WBO rankings. Why Monroe is ranked above a guy like Jacobs in the first place is a joke. Monroe bum azz isn't even on the WBC or IBF rankings and is lower then Jacobs on the WBA rankings. All 3rd party unbiased rankings have Jacobs well ahead of the Monroe except the ****** azz WBO

Wait and see what he looks like after getting some serious training in at the Wincobank gym in Shefield, which I hope is what he's doing right now.

Jacobs is supposedly in the running for Chavez Jr in December which probably pays better + is a easier fight. And I also think he had some stuff going on & had said pretty much from the end of the GGG fight that he wasn't looking to fight again anytime soon & was taking some time off. For a guy who almost died I'm sure life>boxing all day every day. Matter of fact I think a lot of what he was doing these days was charity stuff.

If he wins his next 3 fights he's got $10M in his bank account. If he wins one fight he's probably taking home $2M or close to it (1M W bonus for quarterfinal fights) which is probably a huge jump up from what he's been paid. And nothing was happening for him at 160. Seems like a worthwhile move & not even much of a gamble. And he did luck out & get a good draw with a winnable first match & if Callum Smith gets upset then Brant could have a damn near walk to the finals & make about $7M or so even if he loses to Eubank or Groves in the finals.

Was Lara made a legit offer? I'd assume he wouldn't be opposed with a 1M+ type offer to fight BJS for a 160lb strap, but he his technically still a 154lber & supposedly those guys are gonna start fighting each other soon & we haven't really heard that in the past while many of us fans, myself included, have been saying wtf about 154 where PBC has all the puzzle pieces, but won't put it together.

Depends what you thought of BJS before. Personally I've had a high opinion of him for years & my current opinion of him is actually worse than its previously been due to inactivity & his eating/health habits & I feel he's wasting a decent portion of his career as of late for no good reason. BJS last year or so of his career would be like if Ali lost a year of his career to a little debbie snack cake addiction. Its embarrassing. I hope he gets/gots his sh^t together now.
          Awesome post, Eff Pandas.

I doubt Cotto fights Lemieux though. If he does it won't be at 160. Lemieux would have to agree to a catchweight of 157 or something.

And I know Lemieux already has enough trouble just making 160.

Not sure if Lemieux and Cotto can see eye to eye on weight.

Lol, you know Cotto is going to demand the fight be at Jr. Middleweight or at a catchweight.

Brant was #4, Monroe is #5, so Brant should've gotten the offer first! I wish him luck! Lara keeps talking GGG, so that WBO strap would've been a way to make it happen! I hope he fights Andrade, because that's the only fight I want to see Lara in @ 154! I would rather see Lara vs. Jacobs @ 160 than Lara vs. Lubin @ 154! As far as BJS, I can't judge him fairly because of the fights he hasn't had, i.e. GGG, Canelo, Cotto, Jacobs, and Quillen!
I've heard that Jacobs vs JCC Jr thing more then once lol. I honestly think he only helps him gain ground at 160 by doing so. I think there is a solid argument beating a name is better than beating a better fighter without a name as long as long as there isn't a too drastic of a difference in skill & based on JCC Jr getting a fight with Canelo I believe that makes him fair game for the rest of the top ten.

And lol @ Brant getting the WBO shot if he hadn't entered that tournament. Idk about that. I don't trust the corrupt abc groups at all in how they hand out title shots (I mean look no further than Hughie Fury even getting a title shot at all if you wanna talk the corrupt WBO group specifically). And I'm 100% sure this tournament will pay more than the BJS fight woulda gotten him. If Brant wins this tournament he'll have made more money than BJS in his career. And if he loses he's still made more & if this thing garners some mainstream-ish type appeal might have gotten his name out there more & added value for himself with future fights.

And I see potential in BJS & have seen it in him for awhile now, but he's unfocused & undisciplined as f#ck when he's not fighting & eventually thats gonna impact him in the ring. A year or two ago I would have given him a shot to upset GGG or Canelo, now idk. I need to see where he's at again.

I agree weight is an issue will be interesting to see how this all plays out if Cotto wins. But there has been too much talk and smoke saying it's going to happen. Lemieux all but admitted to this by passing on a sure title fight that fell in his lap after khurtsidze got arrested saying he has something bigger lined up. He will be at the Cotto fight ringside. Dan Rafael also reported that Cotto was going up to 160 after his fight when he signed with Golden Boy and also said told he's fighting Lemieux. I laughed when fat boy dan said it but too many people keep reporting it so either everyone is wrong and someone lied to Lemieux or there is something here. Lemieux has to have a promise from Golden Boy to either Canelo or Cotto. If he lands either fight it will be a career pay day and far more then the money Saunders can offer.

I wonder who would Jacobs be facing on the Canelo vs. GGG undercard? I know GBP has Tureano Johnson, but he has afight scheduled with Sergiy Derevyanchenko on August 25th. I can't imagine who his opponent would be?

Yeah I remember reading Dan Rafael mention it and also read that Lemieux said he's going to be ringside for Cotto-Kamegai.

As stubborn as Cotto is though, Lol, I'm almost positive he will demand a catchweight or something, if they agree to fight each other.

You and I know that JCC Jr. can't make 160! If Jacobs wants to move to 168, then Anthony Dirrell, David Benavidez, and James DeGale are right there! Haymon could make that happen easily! If JCC Jr. had even tried vs. Canelo, it would make sense. NOT NOW!!! I would rather see Jacobs vs. Immanuwel Aleem, Demetrius Andrade, or Erislandy Lara, on his own card, than to fight JCC Jr. on someone else's card!
