What happened to Robert Guerrero? He went from being this graceful boxer/puncher at 135 with a good defense into becoming this slugger/mauler at 147 with no defense at all.

He was never this huge puncher to begin with. So I don't understand the need for him to change his fighting style. He was never built to eat and absorb those many punches and now they have taken their toll on his body.

The one thing that all boxers and former boxers agree upon is that the less you get hit the longer you will last in this game. The Ghost should have never abandoned his defense.

... maybe he figured that the feeble fat kid in front of him (also documented as having weak broken hands) would crumble as soon as a "KO waiting to happen"...

This was BS. Guerrero's response to those punches especially the first knockdown, seemed too exaggerated. No matter how shot Guerrero is. Fig went twelve rounds and got hurt with smaller fighter in Demarco's. They set this up to throw him in against Garcia or Spence, or maybe Thurman. Would prefer winner of Mikey vs Broner though.

Guerrero was taking some heavy shots especially those uppercuts. He just seemed unmotivated, and was taking the same punch way too many times. Figueroa gets beat by elite welterweights though IMO.

Guerrero needs to enjoy all the cash he's made and retire. He was a good technical boxer at 135, but now he's a pure brute.
