Why would someone make an excuse? He's fighting an amateur ffs. McGregor will be easily outclassed and maybr stopped. Wouldn't be surprised at all

A timing-based fighter can't beat Floyd. Conor bases a lot of his striking ability on timing against MMA turds who have amateurish fighting skills. You can't time or counter-punch Floyd, or else you'll wind up like Marquez landing the fewest punches in a 12 round contest in CompuBox history. Floyd's timing will be better, his punches will be more accurate. That said, he may not hurt McGregor early on, and that will keep the Irishman in the fight, throwing a lot, and possibly sticking something. The crowd will get excited - as they are wont to do (especially when dealing with the mouth-breathing MMA fans) - but Floyd will eventually gain control, slow the fight down, and embarrass him.

I think Mayweather fully plans to carry the fight for 12 rounds, win a decision where neither guy gets really hurt, and collect a happy payday. At age 40 and 18 months away from the sport, he won't be as sharp as he once was. If this were Floyd from 10 years ago? It would be Gatti all over again.
