why dont we see any fighters with 100 plus wins anymore...

The most recent one was julio cesar chavez with a little over 100 wins i believe. But im talking american or other places fighters. the most recent one was like leonard i think.

The reason i say only american fights, is because Mexican fighters tend to have short amature careers and have like 60 fights before they turn 30, and they fight for ever as well.

WHy dont we see these true worriors any more. These guys that are well conditioned animales. I remember every fighter out there was a muscular, well conditioned animal. the Heavyweight division wasnt all fatasses. Now all the fighters that arent great or soon to be great are slow and tire faster then quickly.

Thats the reason i think there arent anymore of these shockingly great athletes anymore.

Because unlike the older days, there are no longer all kinds of places to fight at each month. Television killed the club show and fighters having less then 100 fights is a part of the after math.

Thats a good question. Maybe because the pool of total boxers and total boxing shows has greatly diminshed over the years. The decline seems especially steep since the 50's.

because of this new "ppv" era. fighters today are protected, coddled and misused by promoters for their own personal gain.

Because of that 2 fights/yr **** these fighters today are on....the studying of an opp. is at an all-time high in the sport today...boxers study evrything from head moves to the number of blinks a fighter takes before swing...those days of taking weeks notice for a fight are over and gone..i take that back...upcoming fighters still do it to get more fighter under their belts..

those are good points. id have to agree. but am i the only one that sees boxing starting to increase in popularity. Am i right or is it still thought of as a declining sport. Mind u, i think its in the very early stages of its rise in popularity, but it think it could be as popular as it was in the 70's in about 5-10 years time

boxing's done. stick a fork in it. i give it another 5-10 years and UFC/pride will surpass it.

You must be right, I should have seen that coming

Nothing better than two barefoot men hugging eachother on the ground for 15 minutes.

                  I really doubt that.

thats a pretty strong statement. something tells me u dont know what ur talking about.

There are more people that hate UFC then like it. Everyone i know that doesnt really follow boxing, enjoys it. They like watching good fights and stuff. People i know that dont follow UFC, hate the idea of it and would never watch another one of those fights again.

but thats off topic. keep discussing why there arent anymore 100+ fight fighters anymore
