He quit. No reason to give an excuse of why he quit....the other dude did enough damage to him to make him quit.

And it was a smart move. He was being handled easily and had no hope. It reminded me of Lacy vs. Calzhaghe when Calz was yelling in the corner after the first round that Lacy is shlt, and his corner had to calm him down. From the beginning of the fight basically, you could tell that Davies was going to be worked over all fight long.

If the truth be told, many fights that end inside the distance end with one guy "quitting"

They don't try to beat the count after getting decked, they go to the ropes and cover up without firing back, they show the ref or their corner they've had enough with their body language, or by not responding to questions, etc, etc.

Sometimes they are more honest about it .. they take a knee or wave a hand, like Davis ... and that's when they become "quitters".
Looks so easy from the outside to priicks who've never did it. Everytime someone even has a hard fight they've been "exposed". To many people grew up thinking Rocky was real.

How did Kell Brook "bottle" it with GGG? His corner threw in the towel. He also had a broken orbital bone. I'm not much for quitters either, but that's not quitting. He broke his other orbital bone in the Spence fight. You try and fight a pro boxer with a broken orbital bone and see how fast your ***** ass quits. You wouldn't have even gotten made it far enough to get it broken. I bet you would ***** out at the first stiff jab.

He quit, even looked like quitting after he took a knee from a jab FFS.

Some of the nuthuggers here defending him DKSAB, he got matched with a real quality fighter and quickly came to the realization he was out of his depth. Instead going out like a warrior he simply quit like a hype job b1tch.

How he says "I couldn't breath" GTFOH, you got exposed, that all.

Exactly, in the final analysis you are judged on your actions inside the ring, that is what defines you as a boxer. He doesn't have the ability or the heart he bragged about before the fight. Exactly the same thing happened with Broner, confidence and swagger outside the won't help you win rights inside it.

It always makes me cringe when some dude has a go at fighters for quitting.

For me boxers desperately need to be saved from themselves a lot of the time so if you get a situation where a boxer has actually called time and not the corner or ref you've got to think......this dude is in real trouble here. Essentially he's quit because he's concerned about his own mortality.

They're quitting because they think they will be seriously hurt. That is what is at stake. I know there are fighters that go in there knowing that is a consequence and can diminish and still carry on but that is actually crazy. Tony Bellew talks candidly about that topic.

As a fan I don't demand that any competitors in there get seriously hurt or die - that is the worst thing that can happen in the sport. It is between the referee, the corner men, the ringside doctor, and the fighters themselves to decide to end the fight.

And I always think if the fighter themselves quits then he has suffered from a 'brave corner'. Kell should have been pulled out 'again' but his corner was being brave this time.

Well Davies was actually saying before the fight that if the fight was not over by the 6th rounds, he would walk. I'm guessing he miscounted the rounds. He did warn everyone before hand.

Granted his towel beat him to it but no doubt he would've bowed out. He quit with Spence. End of. If u can still fight and choose not to then u quit, that's the definition surely. Anyway, I've no doubt you're a yank.... go eat some corn dogs fatty

No doubt huh? Any reasonable, intelligent person knows that there is almost always a doubt. With that said, I've got no doubt that you're a *****, so go eat some ****. Be sure to swallow. :bukkake:
