Comments Thread For: Hearn Wants Joshua vs. Parker Unification By Mid-2018

Eddie Hearn, promoter for IBF, IBO, WBA heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (19-0, 19 KOs), would like to see his boxer have a unification with WBO champion Joseph Parker (23-0, 18 KOs) by the middle of next year. Both boxers have upcoming assignments to deal with, which prevents their fight from taking place this year.

So what did I miss? Where's Deontay Wilder in this scenario? I told y'all Hearn was hiding and protecting AJ from Wilder. So what exactly is he afraid of? Parker was the unification bout that Deontay had always wanted but now he's snatching that one right from under his feet also.

How is Wilder supposed to feed his kids if everyone stays ducking him?

It's a baiting tactic. Hearn has a big money offer out there for Wilder already to face Whyte - which Wilder wants no part of. This Parker-Joshua talk is just Hearn's way of trying to prod Wilder into doing something - effectively saying "take it, or we'll take Joshua elsewhere".

Hearn wants Wilder-Whyte to expose Wilder to the UK audience, and setup for the biggest unification. Parker really is just the plan B if Wilder isn't interested in doing business.

Should have thought of that before he had them.

What qualifications did he get at school, he needs to find a job.

Nowhere f he refuses to do any work to get the shot. He'll end up after Parker (so late 2018) when Joshua decides he wants to be the unified world heavyweight champion.

If Wilder was willing to face Whyte and make himself known to the UK audience so everyone here was clamouring for a Joshua v Wilder fight then Hearn would be talking about Wilder v Joshua rather than Parker v Joshua. Case in point:

"Certainly victories over Hughie Fury and Tony Bellew or Dillian Whyte would put Joseph in a brilliant position to earn a lot, a lot of money in the Anthony Joshua fight and put him in a position where that fight is a necessity rather than a potential fight."

Whyte wants to face Wilder. That fight would put Wilder at the forefront of the UK public's minds and thus would mean Wilder would be at the front of the queue. If Wilder doesn't take it he'll be sat waiting until after Parker, if he does take it there's no doubt he'll be ahead of Parker. Question is, is Wilder too arrogant/ignorant to accept that he is not the draw here and has to put the work in to get the shot he wants?

Exactly. Hearn is just trying to make the fight as big as possible.

Hughie will probably beat Parker and this unification won`t happen.

Let's not forget that the WBC already ordered Wilder to fight Stiverne. So, unless Stiverne agrees to take step aside money, the fight with Whyte won't happen since it's not a unification. Since the champs are busy, just handle the WBC mandatory while his people continue to try to get him bigger fights. Now that Ortiz is signed with Haymon, makes sense to make Wilder vs Ortiz after he whoops Stiverne again. But, logic rarely comes to fruition in the fight game.

Ok, I get it now! Eddie Hearn is supposed to be this evil genius.
