Why haven't Ward and Stevenson called each other out yet?

Doesn't work like that.
You don't beat cans on the side while the top guys are putting themselves through the gauntlet only to not only fight the winner but dictate the fight in your hometown. Maybe in BattlingNelson's world, but not the real world.Comment

Even Joe Smith Jr says he doesn't know why Stevenson didn't want to fight. But Ward is just suppose to fight this guy without Stevenson taking any real tests himself?
Let's not kid ourselves, Stevenson is a legit threat to Ward. But he should also put himself through the gauntlet.Comment

I'm pretty sure Ward's contract with HBO is up, hence why he may sign on with Top Rank.
That said, let's face it: Ward isn't taking the fight and he's basically said this. Not worth it to him, not worth maximizing it by going to Canada either. So he'll probably go the heavyweight route. Would love to see it, or Stevenson-Kovalev but I'm not holding my breath.Comment
