About a year ago my dad told me he had a conversation with a friend and they were talking about boxing, I don't know where his friend got the info but he told my dad that Mayweather was having big financial problems,
When my dad told me that I laughed and thought it had to be a joke because Mayweather earned a TON of money with the Pacquiao fight.
So now I see this I'm like woooooow, so this is the reason Mayweather is fighting McGregor.
Lots of people don't understand net worth vs. liquid assets. They also don't understand capacity to pay vs. desire to pay.
Floyd CAN pay. He just doesn't want to. Reason: it would mean he has to sell off properties and investments to raise LIQUID assets to hand over to the feds before they seize it. Nobody wants to do that when you've worked for that. He's basically "Cash poor" like 50 Cent. It's just like Lord Jamar tried to tell people.
His mistake is that he should have just made a payment arrangement on it; the feds will take almost any money as long as they continue to get it on time, and he could have been free and clear in 3 years. And I speak as a person that had to work with the feds on old tax debt from when I was a kid and didn't understand "the system".
Manny COULDN'T pay. He wanted to, he couldn't. Reason: he threw his money away on other people and getting ripped off by his promoter and team, plus the hookers, booze and drugs over years.
Floyd Mayweather greatest enemy is his own innocence. Here's a man who came from nowhere into becoming the wealthiest athlete the world has ever known.
For example: He's from a broken home; Mother and father wasn't married, from the ******, poor, old man was sent to the federal penitentiary while still in his formative years, with very little to no education and is hardly literate.
That's why he trusts and relies so heavily on the advice of others for assistance and guidance because of his lack of ability and all the lack of opportunities he was denied while growing up.
I have to admit that he had it rough and also sadly to say, that he will be broke in less than five years of this Conor McGregor fight.
Floyd gonna have to slow down on the lavish spending if he wants to legitimately retire. This McGregor thing is probably his last quick money fix. Next time, he's gonna have to fight the Canelo-GGG winner if it's in the near future. The next time, its probably gonna have to be Errol Spence. 40yr old plus Floyd doesn't like either of those options.
STOP PAYING FOR P.USSY FLOYD!!!! It's gonna get you wrecked in a boxing ring one day.
Floyd has smart people around him knowing nothing will happen if taxes are deferred from payment for a year or two or three or four while he can have his assets going in other directions... wait until Mayweather promotions really takes off... when no interest is due and that's usually the crusher and it's just the interest figure how much he must be making if he owes them only a million to you're looking at 50 million on something like that with the way he has a structured...
