One thing I don't get is where the money comes from. ESPN is undoubtedly not paying as much for shows as HBO does (or rather did), but I don't see Pacquiao, Crawford, Lomachenko, etc., taking pay cuts at this stage of their careers

seriously hbo is in the worst trouble that i've seen them in since i've been following boxing. Granted they do have who is arguably the most profitable star in the sport now outside of floyd (canelo), but who else do they got? Ward & kovalev? Those two were a box office bomb. Together at that. Ggg is what, 36? Who the hell else do they got left?

i expect hbo to start working with haymon/pbc shortly!

espn pays a rights fee i think! They need boxing because a lot of other bigger sports contracts for tv deals are ending! So for them to pay for boxing is cheap compared to other bigger sports!
