Fighters get a 2 point round if they hit someone and his opponents knee or glove touches the ground. The guy isn't hurt but he still gets deducted two points. Flash knockdowns are common where the fighter gets up and fights on as if nothing happened. IMO that was a clear two point round for PAC.

That's called a knockdown. Of course you get rewarded with a extra point. It's the rules.Fighters get a 2 point round if they hit someone and his opponents knee or glove touches the ground. How is the 9th a 2 point round when Horn never went down, nor did he ever stop defending himself or throwing punches in return. Just cause Pac buzzed the guy don't equate to a 2 point round. I've seen guys hurt way more than that and not get a 2 point round. That round was clearly nothing but a dominant 10-9Fighters get a 2 point round if they hit someone and his opponents knee or glove touches the ground. He took flush shots and there was barely any defense. Any punches he landed had zero power because he was out in his feet. The referee was concerned enough to almost stop the fight. The same referee that allowed him to foul most of the match. How is the 9th a 2 point round when Horn never went down, nor did he ever stop defending himself or throwing punches in return. That was not a 10-8 round dude, you'd have to have that guy up against the ropes beating him silly for it to be a 10-8. Pac was still missing every other wild punch he threw during that round and Jeff was never out of it mentally or even physically! That round was nothing but Manny's best round, a plain and simple dominant 10-9Comment

The referee was considering stopping the fight for Christ sake. He is in the ring looking at Horn. He's in the best position to judge how badly Horn was hurt. Bob Sheridan thought it was a two point round and he's one of the most unbiased announcers in the sport. That was not a 10-8 round dude, you'd have to have that guy up against the ropes beating him silly for it to be a 10-8. Horn was more fatigued than hurt as evidenced by coming out and winning the next 3 rounds! Guess he made that ref eat some I'm going to stop the fight crow wouldn't you say?Comment

If he was fatigued he would have ran out of gas in the last rounds. What really happened is that he was badly hurt and it took some time to clear his head. He wasn't showing any unusual fatigue as you call it untill he got clocked by hard punches.Comment

The fighter who ran out of gas was Manny, round 10-12 Pac had nothing....did you not see this? What exactly did you see happening in this ring? Pac was just going through the motion's, there was no fight in him, no dog in him, completely flat throughout the contest and barely put forth an effort during the championship rounds!Comment

I doubt Pacquiao will be back any time soon. He'll take his time and not be bothered by Arum's ultimatums and deadlines next time.
Horn better look for another fight. Or he'll end up taking an unnecessary long layoff.Comment
