he imo would easily crush these ratings
Oh yeah there's little doubt. As good as these Pacquiao/Horn numbers are Floyd on free TV would almost assuredly demolish these ratings

          Is 2.8 mil viewers good?

I remmeber when people were guessin the numbers before the fight and most were saying 5mil

Arum said he was expecting between 10 and 20mil

Sounds like propaganda to me when i see headlines saying how great the viewing figures were

It was the highest rated boxing event on cable since 2006. And this fight didn't have a platform two weeks before they stepped into the ring. There was literally zero promotion until the week of the fight, lol. It was a success. And yes I know that ESPN is in many, MANY more homes than HBO, thus it has an infinitely better opportunity to score an achievement such as this one did (being the highest rated fight on cable of the decade). But that's kinda the point. It's further proof that the sport doesn't have to be tucked and hidden away on premium cable channels. It was the highest trending event of the weekend and it also did as well as anything ratings wise for the entire weekend.

It did great, and it's good for the sport.

Oh, and by the way, for any of y'all thinking that just being on ESPN is simply enough, and that they coulda aired literally anything and gotten those ratings -- just look at what was on the same exact channel immediately before Pacquiao/Horn. It was an Major League Soccer game that drew an audience of 86,000 among adults from age 18 to 34. This was the same exact channel.

By the time Pacquiao & Horn made their way to the ring, the same channel, among adults age 18 to 34, now had an audience of 879,000.

PPV buys and FOX/FS1 ratings waaaay down this year for the UFC. The numbers simply don't reflect that the majority of people actually believe "boxing is a joke and UFC is radz"

The fact is the eyeballs for boxing are so far ahead of the UFC this year it's not even funny..
This post is 100% correct where are these fans that are saying that? because UFC is dying a death this year.
