Hopkins would murder Lacy. It won't be spectacular like the Calzaghe fight - but it would end with Hopkins smiling at the end, with not a mark on his face, and Lacy so swelled up you wouldn't recognize him.

Well if hopkins will need to change his gameplan to win this fight. He would need a high output in order to keep lacy off him. It wont be like the tarver fight, in which they are both counterpunchers and the pace of the fight can be slow, lacy is nearly always in fast paced exciting fights.
it would be interesting to say the least.
Hopkins wouldn't do to Lacy what Calzaghe did.....Hopkins does not have Calzaghe's hand speed & fire/output.
But, he's very capable of shutting Lacy down early.....& potshotting him to a fairly routine victory.
aint that what i said, that it would be a beat down same as clazaghe just not at the same pace? what i meant by pace is volume and speed. either way we is thinking on the same page. lacy gets owned by both.

Yeah, sorry....I was really piggy-backing off of what you said.
Sure we are talking about fighters ultimately on two seperate levels however the 40 year old Bernard Hopkins would be in tougher then you think against a wild brawler like Jeff Lacy(IMO).
Pace would be key here and Bernard Hopkins at least the 40 year old Bernard Hopkins fights at a snails pace....10-20 punches a round pace...I dont care how wild and how reckless Lacy is if he set the pace (50-75 punches per round) Bernard would be in for one tough night.
i dont think so. Lacy has had his share of pro fights, and the loss may be good for him.
agreed . And as far as this matchup, i'd need to see Lacy in a sort-of "comeback" fight since Calzaghe to really get an idea of how the loss has affected him.. i'd like to think it's for the good
