Sully is correct on both counts.
Earlier in the fight, Weeks gave Ward a warning for hitting Kovalev on the waistband of his trunks. When Ward did the same thing again, I'm pretty sure Kovalev reacted the way he did because he was hoping Weeks would deduct a point.
So I guess you can say Kovalev was looking for an advantage himself. The mistake he made was in not realising that, when you're fighting Andre Ward in the US, the advantages only go one way.
it's called, taking a dive.....

the story that Ward was nut-hunting all night long, and both Weeks and Kovalev totally ignored it..... is rubbish
Ward was working him over to the body, and throughout the course of the fight a couple slipped low..... so fkn what?

I can understand why you say Ward might have won that second fight, but it was very far from a 100% guarantee. Ward was exhausted in the 8th, a lot more than he was in their first fight. And rounds 9-12 anything could have happened. Kovalev always has a puncher's chance, and Ward blew all his energy in the 8th. Here he is after the stoppage, and looks extremely tired.
