Monzon had an 80 plus fight career with notable wins against Benvenuti, Valdzes and Griffith. SRR was a natural welterweight who also won titles at lightweight and Middleweight and Hagler had notable wins over Hearns and Duran. I said previously that beating Canelo isn't good enough to claim ATG status whilst staying at middleweight like Monzon and Hagler did with their wins. Lil G has to go up and beat big names.

Unless you're comparing Lil G's wins with Hagler and Monzon's?

Win over Alverez and unify seals the deal; ATG and IBHOF but not GOAT at Middleweight, he may be the GOAT Middleweight of his era but far from "THE GOAT" at MW.

Top 50 atg he would need to beat canelo twice and then clean up 168 decisively, knocking out guys like degale at that higher weight class

The way in which he stays undefeated in conquering 160 and 168 nefore retiring is gonna be important in determing whether hes top 50 atg. Its not enough just to beat everyone since those are 2 very weak divisions

He needs to beat Canelo, Saunders, and Jacobs (this time decisively), in that order. Then possibly the Charlo brothers, if they establish themselves at MW. And then, until he retires (in about 3-4 years I would guess), every mandatory they put in front of him.

Moving up is not a requirement in my opinion. He has to clearly dominate his division - that's it.

Of course. You have to compare fighters wins to determine their ranking. That's what every sanctioning body and bookie does.
LOL I'm surprised you don't know that. If your asking me if G can beat Ward the answer is no. There is too much of a size difference and the refs turn a blind eye to Ward's head butting low blows ducking below the waist etc. Against Ward G would be facing a dominent champion who never lost. Hagler never moved up because he was too small to fight Spinks. He would have got his ass kicked and Hagler is rated an ATG at middleweight.

Theres not enough competition at middleweight. I mean Hagler is considered a ATG and he only fought at Middleweight. GGG will need to beat Canelo and the best at SMW.

Beat Canelo and he retires at the greatest of all time, period.

When you compare Hagker to GGG's size next to each other but GGG himself says "look at me I'm not a big Middleweight..." when he knows gust like Duran, SRL, PAC, or whoever all did their part only suggests that GGG is not daring to be great. When he loses to Canelo, if he's still at Middleweight but doesn't want the attention at 168 then his fans are being cheated... he should know that Ward is not going to 168. GGG scared to test himself against guys that can make 168 and he sparred Kovalev... smh
