Why did Floyd need an IV to rehydrate if he barely cuts any weight?

A TUE was needed to satisfy WADA, which USADA is bound to as a signatory. NSAC can't issue a TUE for WADA. Nor can USADA issue one for NSAC.

Also the IV was admisiterd by a paramedic. IVS for rehydration done at a hospital don't require a TUE.

TUE application is a legnthy process. Also there is no timeline within WADA rules for a retroactive TUE

750ml is a normal amount to rehydrate an adult athlete the size of Floyd.

The 50ml per 6 hours is a rule that governs when a TUE must be applied for - it's not a medical guideline for rehydration. In fact you couldn't rehydrate a new born baby at that rate.

Understood. The facts were being intentionally misrepresented and it does take additional time to read the rules and gain an understanding.

This was a rumor started by Thomas Hauser - that floyd was caught red handed. However Thomas Hauser admitted he was wrong and agreed to Floyd informed the USADA Doping Control Officer BEFORE using an IV. As standard procedure Floyd gave a partial urine sample BEFORE the IV and completed the sample immediately AFTER the IV.

The commisioner BOB BENNET admitted he was wrong. NSAC doesn't ban IVs. ALSO his quotes were taken out of context - there were issues with UFC fighters trying to use USADA TUES to satify NSAC requirements for banned substances.

WADA clearly rules clearly indicate it is the athletes responsibility to apply for TUES to ALL relevant ADOS involved.

AGAIN this doesn't apply to FLOYD because NSAC didn't ban IVs

He was wrong. Pretty embarrassing to not be well versed in your own rules. But that is part of the problem with NSAC testing. Lack of knowledge of WADA and lack of resources.

There is more. But that is a lot to take in. There are a few people who will give you more information about the FACTS surrounding the IV.
Oh thanks for taking the time to write that lengthy explanation.
However there is still a probability, however small, that these people are just covering there bases. Smart and powerful enough to deceive the public with little flips of information.
And it is still a huge wonder why floyd even needed those.
But for now I can move on and view everything fairly, until of course new information and investigations come to surface.
I really hope none of this BS happens next time though

I agree. Discovering the truth in this "information age" can be challenging.

Sharpening your ability to discern factual information from what is opinion, misinformation, rumor or speculation is critical.

I offered you factual information that can be found in WADA rules, NSAC rules, false information that was recanted by the same journalist and my personal opinion of Bob Bennet that was based on facts.

I just have a question, why did floyd need 750 Ml of saline if he made the weight easily? he was 146 at the weigh in proving he cut an extra pound below the weight, and 149 on fight night. Why did he even need an IV?

Wouldnt he put on a good amount of weight if he was so drained that he need an IV? or am i missing something?

        weight in 146lbs
        fight night weight 149lbs
floyd was severely dehydrated that he needed those 750ml and rehydrate to 149lbs.

Even a hardcore floyd fans will not believe this BS.

Say anything negative about Floyd and that clown will either accuse you of being an alt or a racist. He is a self-appointed forum-lawyer to Mayweather, lol.

I've been around combat sports over a decade and if you are dehydrated, you are dehydrated

doesnt matter how much weight you cut, what matters is if your body retains the proper amount of water, vitamin, and minerals

hell i was in high school seeing guys at wrestling tournaments using Drip/IV to hydrate before matches or after

its just a bunch of couch potatoes on this site with opinions but no actual experience on the topic

I walk around at 137-140 now but when ive gotten below 135 Ive had to get help replinishing

if you train hard as mayweather does, you will have good days and bad ones

Why don't you just answer the question and stop this nonsense?
