New York - It took a few years to come to fruition but what many consider to be the "best fight in boxing" will happen on September 16th, when the lineal middleweight champion of the world, Canelo Alvarez (49-1-1, 34 KO's), takes on the consensus best middleweight in the world, Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (37-0, 33 KO's), who holds the WBC, WBA, IBO and IBF versions of the title.

When it's so obvious why they chose to fight there it's better to just say it, instead of talking a load of crap.

Cuz thats where the money is? If he didn't say that he's lying. Although these days if Oscar is moving his lips there is like a 50% chance he's lying...and thats probably an overly optimistic take on his truth telling if anyone with a camera or notepad is around.

They aren't getting any press til Aug. 27th whatever language Canelo is doing interviews in. The got 3 weeks to sell this fight to the casuals, sports fans & non-sports fans to make it as big as possible.

If you think Bob Arum is the only promoter who does things as you're claiming then you're sadly mistaken! Oscar, Hearns, Haymon, Duva, King, K2, etc. will always do business which best benefits there brand including controversial decisions!

the fight never had a chance of being anywhere but vegas. That's where the money is. If Canelo/Chavez wasn't in Cowboy Stadium when they have a huge mexican population then why would anyone think Canelo/GGG would be there? When Vegas is in the bidding for a big fight they get it because they can offer more money then any other player including Jerry Jones. They are not in the business of selling the most seats these football stadiums hold far more seats. They are in the business of making the most money and the casinos pay huge amounts for the rights of the fight. Then jack up the prices to lure high rollers and celebs to the casinos. That's how you get fights with only 20K or less in attendance doing live gate amounts that blow away the live gates generated in 50-80K attended fights in stadiums.
