Just for the sake of arguement let's assume Compubox is wrong. We will cut in half Pacquiao's total punches landed per round and leave Horns numbers as reported by Compubox. PAC still wins rounds 2,3,4,5,7,9,11,12.
He should have been given a two point round for round 9.
PAC won the fight fair and square and got ****ed over by the judges.

I just let Atlas score it since I was agreeing with him on most rounds.I think Pacquiao clearly won by at least 4 or 5 points by landing many more clean punches in almost every round. The ref let Horn get away with some very dirty rough mauling tactics. Horn should have been warned and then docked points if he continued to foul Pacqiao. Instead he was allowed to fight like an MMA fighter with elbows, head butts, head locks, pushing Pacquiao's head down and illegal holding and hitting.

None of horns rounds were clear cut rounds but I'll give him 1,5, and 10 and you can maybe make a case for the 12th but that's it.

Exactly. It wasn't some blowout that people are claiming. Too many aren't giving Jeff Horn's movement and bullying the credit it deserves. He showed up and fought a good fight, and most importantly didn't let the legend across from him affect his performance. He deserves better than he and his wife are getting.

So does maidana deserve the victory against Floyd for rough housing? If you thought horn fought a good fight kys right now and never watch this sport again

I dont remember my card, as I was Drunk when I Watched LOL. I think I had about 7-3 Horn, with 2 even, and an extra point for Manny in the 9th. Pretty much clear cut for Horn. But again, I was Drunk. I'll have to Watch again soberly then score.

I had JH by like 3-4 points or something like that. I was afraid he was gonna be robbed, but was relieved the right guy Won.

Full disclosure, my Filipino-American wife scored It 11-1 for JH. Seriously. Granted, she's not a Boxing expert at all, so take it with a grain of salt, but she's from the Philippines And even she Says MP lost.

I had it 7-5 the first time. Studying the film it was wider for Pacquiao.

Exactly.1st watch... I had 7 rounds to 5 with a 10-8 Rd 9. 115-112.

After rewatchng. . My score got wider 116-111.

And the last round was an illusion. Pac won Rd 12..

Similarly, Rd 7 was an illusion too.. Pac landed the cleaner shots.

Well, I was simply stating the obvious there. But I'm happy to reiterate the standard I'm sure we are all familiar with, which is commonly accepted as the basic criteria for a scoring a fight:

Effective Aggression – Being aggressive gives the impression of dominance, but unless the boxer is landing shots and not constantly getting countered, it’s not exactly “effective.” Judges look for effective aggression, where the aggressor consistently lands his punches and avoids those from his opponent.

My comment: while Horn was clearly the aggressor, he was clearly ineffective with his aggression. He was consistently hit, countered, and out boxed by Pacquiao, while Horn himself rarely landed.

Ring Generalship – The fighter who controls the action and enforces his will and style.

My comment: Pacquiao clearly preferred Horn to be the aggressor. He even challenged him to be aggressive before the fight. And Horn followed suit, fighting exactly the kind of style Pacquiao expected and wanted him to (minus the head butting and wrestling of course).

Defense – How well is a boxer slipping, parrying, and blocking punches? Good defense is important.

My comment: Horn's 15 percent connect percentage is consistent with what the eye saw during the fight: a guy throwing and missing punches. Aside from the two head clashes, Pacquiao looked like a guy who didn't eat a whole lot of leather during the fight. Horn, different story.

Hard and Clean Punches – To the untrained eye, it can appear as if a boxer is landing a lot of shots, when, in fact, most are being blocked or aren’t landing flush. A judge needs to look for hard shots that land clean.

My comment: Horn missed over 500 punches while consistently eating clean counter punches and nearly being stopped from the accumulated damage.

In summary, just because you hate Pacquiao doesn't mean he lost the fight. But I guess you can at least celebrate him being robbed. Well, that is, until he collects yet another huge paycheck from the rematch you will be purchasing on PPV.

And let me remind you that fights are judged round per round, not holistically. Unless we're speaking specific rounds, your opinion is obsolete and again the musing of a casual emotional invested fan.


My judging was completely consistent with the judge's cards. Only difference is that I wasn't paid. Do you think that is a pure coincidence or a testament to my judging ability?
