Yea it makes zero sense to me. Almost all of these guys are likely seeing a pay raise even if they lose their first round fight & I'd be hard pressed to name one 168lber who's making $10M in 3 fights with the current landscape outside of this tournament.

There are some guys who have fights lined up. Smith vs Dirrell and Ramirez rumored to fight Hart. Also Abraham Vs Chris Eubank Jr. and thr rematch between dirrel vs uzca.. was ordered. They should just count these fights as wssb fights lol.
Yea thats gonna be kinda effed up if the best 168lb fights are happening outside of this tournament. I'm rooting on Callum saying screw the title shot & go for the glory with this tournament as he's said he's interested, but values the title more right now. But yea overall any of those 6 guys in this tournament win or lose their next fight would be good participants to have in.

Would be a shame if the 168 guys have the same purses as the 200 guys.
100% agree. I think they said during the initial presser that the general idea is splitting the $50M in half for the two WBSS divisions each year, but they could split it up different too & I think you gotta split it up with an edge towards the 200lb guys this time with how things are looking.

That's a terrible lineup. At this point I think I probably won't be watching the 168 pound tournament.

Not unless it gets a lot better really fast.

Yeah mate, they need the remaining 4 names to be as strong as possible to heighten interest.

Sh^t I watched those Prizefighter tournaments & even that goofy one night HW tournament on PPV back in the day so I'm definitely watching the 168 tournament too, but yea its definitely not looking like a sexy lineup to be very excited about.

Eh, I definitely wished they woulda went with the 154lb division now. This 168 division is filled with a bunch of guys who aren't making big money & don't even wanna prove they are the best & win big money by winning 3 fights in a row ffs.

If I was Gilberto Ramirez I'd be threatening to sit out if Arum didn't let me in this tournament so he could make $10M by this time next year. F#ck fighting on ESPN for peanuts in comparison.
CW has all 8 positions filled I think unless there was some over- enthusiastic reporting going on.

              Huck
              Breidis
              Gassiev
              Kudryashov
              Glowacki
              Dorticos
              Wlodarczyk
              Usyk

And I got 7 of them in TBRBs top 10 (all except Kudryashov).

Bolded haven't officially been announced as in. I've seen non-WBSS sources say they are in, but I've not seen the WBSS say they are. My assumption is there are i's that need dotting & t's that need crossing still & they may or may not end up agreeing on all those i's & t's.

Ah, yeah that makes sense. Over zealous reporting then. Cheers man.

Hopkins, Calzaghe and Froch could come out of retirement to be in this and all win at least their first round fights. I don't rate Groves that highly but so far it looks his to win. I thought Schaefer would be more involved than this, when they went for SMW I was hoping he'd use his Haymon links to get guys in. Both tournament seem aimed at the European market more than the US one.

As bad as this addition is, if they announce DeGale-Smith-Anthony Dirrell it's not a bad line-up, just one that would involve some weaker first round matchups until the serious shit happened once there were only 4 left. But if the rest of the fighters are as meh as guys like Braehmar and Cox

Not excited for this unless they can get IDK say a Callum Smith, Zurdo, Benavidez, DeGale involed.
                      Groves tournament too lose IMO.
