Because of "Jay z and Beyonce." Kovalev is a front runner who will quit and look for excuses once he starts getting his ass kicked. I expect more of the same from him against similar opposition.

Same theme. What happened in England in his Hatton fight when the local fighter was allowed by a local referee to wrestle and low blow him and what Tszyu did to Sharmba Mitchell and Zab Judah in pure boxing match?
True. Lomachenko Salido was another fight where an Eastern European fighter was getting fouled and didn't retaliate because he expected the ref to do his job.

Man, while I definitely think he got punched low several times during that fight, he's whining like a little b1tch and coming up with these ****ty excuses. For real, shut the *** up and act like a man.

Of course, that Ward has one of the strongest teams in and out of the ring, but against any team, you don't go all by yourself. And that's exactly what Sergey did.

He had no trainer, no good promoter, no team to look after his interests... You only need to know what happened in the dressing room prior to the fight and that's a minor thing compared to all other weaknesses around him.
I hope he learnt the lesson. If not he will lose again and very soon too.

This wasn't an A side against a B side. This was A+ side against a bunch of nonsense and mess.

Not taking anything from Ward. He deserved a win in the rematch.
Good post. I noticed during the fight that Kovalev's corner wasn't using ice or the endswell between rounds. Maybe Kovalev doesn't like either one but I don't think I've seen that before.
Also I saw a video where a guy from Ward's team was in Kovalev's dressing room checking wraps and he said one of Sergey's gloves didn't fit and they had to wait for a 2nd pair, so it turned out Kovalev had 5 minutes to warm up with his gloves on. Amateur hour!

If Kovalev and Jackson went into a Ward fight not expecting to be fouled then the result was a done deal.

Even if a Russian ref awarded a point taken from Ward twice in Russia due to the refs ignorance, Ward would still win because Kovalev would still have to make it to the twelfth standing, which seems impossible
