And really, he can put all the distance he likes on it but in his case it WILL count.

Loma IS NOT your typical guy, he is a decorated amatuer who WAS EXPECTED to excel on the pro level.

Losing to a B-level is something you MUST avenge or NEVER live down...

Notice how Wlad detractors bring up Purrity and Brewster?

But, you notice McCall and Rahman are not brought up the same way for Lennox.

The difference is not hard to understand.
Loma is not the first or only with a lengthy amateur career, yet he is held to a higher standard for losing his second only fight as a pro to a seasoned veteran who fought dirty.

You and I will have to agree to disagree on this one. I think when all is said and done, if Loma logs in ten more solid wins that include Rigo, Linares, Garcia or Davis, no one will even blink at that blemish so early on in his career. Boxing is a "what have you done for me lately" sport. You telling me if he can get a few good wins over the top names I mentioned that this Salido fight will still hang over his legacy?

Salido will live to regret turning down that offer about five years from now when he's auctioning off his boxing trunks he wore versus Loma on ebay.

No matter what he does, he has to avenge that loss.

Or it will follow him and ALWAYS be mentioned.

Fighters from Lomo's neck of the woods are not about avenging losses.

They just accept ass whippings where he is from.

JCC jr is a classic example of how Arum operates.

To this day, you got fools that will swear in was all about Jr quaking in his boots over Little g, instead of what it REALLY was about...Jr. thinking he was blowing 40M from Haymon and therefore wanting NO PART of any extension, which Flappy Bob was attaching to any deal, except for the lowball final (extension free) one fight offer he knew Jr. wasn't going to take.

I guess it is a different mindset...

But, seems to me a guy definitively whips your azz, you pay a little more to show it was a fluke...

They still think Floyd ducked Margarito

Arum's offer of 8 mil for Margarito had strings attached in the form of a 3 fight deal.

At the same time Floyd was buying out his Top Rank contract.

Arum made Floyd an offer he KNEW would be rejected....then he ran to the media claiming he ducked.

                That's classic Arum.

No immediate rematch either....he waited 'till old dude was worn down to even talk to him about another fight.

Tszyu accepted that ass-whipping from Vince Phillips.

It's how they are in that region.

                  They accept ass-whippings over there.

That $750k had too many strings attached.

And no one talks about the counter-offer Floyd made outlining the conditions under which he'd actually sign the 3 fight extension.

And no one talks about how, in hindsight, Arum would have made out like a bandit if he accepted what Floyd asked for.
