He refused the Gamboa fight and Crawford took the fight for the same or less money than was offered to Garcia.

WUT? Mikey already has a win over Salido, who's been knocked down recently by a guy with 9 losses.

A win over Broner would be huge, could easily get the Mexican and Tex-Mex fans behind him. That group alone can arry a ppv.

The layoff may hurt him or maybe boner will. Forget what could've been and deal with it from the 29h on. Somebody's 0 is going to go, along with their star power.the beasts should come out of both of these combatants.

Well he has made a step in the right direction by going up to fight Broner. This will give him some much needed exposure. When he beats down Broner it will open the door for bigger fights. May get him a fight with Crawford, Pac, Loma, etc. He is still young enough to make up for lost time.

that's absurd. Mikey was beating the breaks off him before they stopped the fight. They probably saved salidos career by stopping that fight.

He was already making $700-$900K at TR fighting fighters with loses.
His first 2 fights at Sho made him $700K total.
This Broner fight will probably make him $900K.
But who else is there for him at PBC with the same low risk high pay reward?

Mikey Garcia is one of the few fighters I won't bet against (figuratively speaking, I don't typically bet much) no matter what. I've felt that way about him since I first saw him in action, pre-layoff.

Now, it might be that I'm just a fanboy with construed judgement, but I don't really think so. The dude is a boxing prodigy.

I like Mikey and hope his career takes off, however, he should take ownership of his layoff here. He could have continued fighting under Top Rank until his contract ran out. It's similar to Ward's decision to keep suing and losing to Goosen. Both guys lost years of their prime.
