Pull works against the ones who drop their lead hands after the jab. It's against someone who throws the jab without taking a step forward and has no intention of following it with a right straight.
Unfortunately my friend, a jab is not a definite punch, all jabs are not the same punch, it's rather a blanket term for the punches thrown with lead hand in a straight line.
GGG throws the jab while moving forward and puts his head to the right side as he throws it, no way in hell gets hit with an overhand or pull. Upper, sure.

LOL! True. I don't think Canelo can win unless he outboxes GGG. I expect a "high level chess" match. Be interesting to see if Canelo can handle things like in the video you posted.

I have Canelo winning a close decision because he is young and has only improved with every fight. The kid deserves nothing but respect. Granted GGG is a hell of a fighter but I do believe that Canelo will be able to take and replay back his power-punches.
Nothing to do with that counter-punch. Chavez Jr was nothing but a punching back and an embarrassment. GGG would have actually KOed Chavez Jr that evening if we are going to be comparing them.

Actually a good move by Canelo against Chavez Jr. Only thing is if Golovkin contacts with the jab (which Chavez Jr did not in the video) Canelo would be caught dead in his tracks and unable to counter. We'll see.

But what makes GGG so great is that he has a diversified offensive attack and he's good at setting traps and is an extremely good counter puncher especially for a come forward fighter.

Look at how he disguises this uppercut versus Rubio

There is much more to GGG than power and chin. Learn the game fellas.

Triple G is not only going to throw the jab, he's also going to feint with the jab, hook off of the jab and also sometimes hook instead of jab and the right hand is going to come in also. They both are going to keep each other guessing.

the pull is what makes the punch whiff.

then counter. Canelo's pull counter is pretty fast.

he pulled it off against Cotto.
